Yes, on the first video he talks about that as a possible version. When he remade the video a year or so later, SP '98, he said version 1 is far superior and that he used xclusively version 1 when transfering just one coin. Version 2 is for transfering multiple coins to cover for the sound. Or for when pitching extremely large objects.
Greg Wilson uses a poorly performed version 2 over and over again to pitch just one coin. Why? I don't know. By the way Shane, I spoke to Dan many years ago and he said his friend who helped him with the first SP video had ripped him off and was stealing all the profits so he had to rerelease it.

Platt, very interesting. I'm glad he did re-release it as I really got a lot out of the latest version.

I will suggest the use of the original version of Dan Sylvester. Play with it and practice a lot. Greg's version is ok with me but it looks somewhat unnatural.

I know this topic is dead in the water, but I havent been on here for awhile. I do not know the wilson version, only the dan version that dan himself taught me. Even when I was just practicing the pitch in its early development, I could do it in any light at any angle and still floor the audience. The secret is 2 things really: Misdirection with the recieving hand, and how hard you pitch the coin. When I pitch the coin, that sucker smacks against my hand and makes a loud smack. The only thing I ever got hung up on was when I was pitching the coin, the critical moment you pitch it, is when the hands are coming together, and that can take misdirection off your recieving hand.
