Hello Everyone,
I plan on doing a routine in which a cane is vanished at the begining and reappears at the end. I have owned fantasio canes, german models, and juan mayorals cane, and unfortunately I have lost quite a few of them, don't ask me how, but I have. So I was wondering which company offers identical appearing and vanishing canes that are nice. I would preffer not to use fantasio, as I am not really a fan of plastic canes. Thank You, Beau Alexander

The metal (silver) canes tend to look the most identical... Mainly because the light plays tricks on the eyes of the audience...
Anyway, I do not know of any particular companies that manufacture their canes to look identical (although THEY SHOULD!) If it becomes a problem or an issue, you could order an appearing cane and then try to make, or have a special cap made, that will make the appearing and vanishing cane look identical. BTW - I am assuming that the biggest difference between the appearing and vanishing cane you are thinking about revolves around the cap/handle of the cane. Overall, if you are vanishing a cane at the begining, (or making it appear) the audience wont remember exactly what it looked like. I am assuming that you are going to be doing lots of productions, vanishes, possibly color changes, etc during the act. In the end, the audience will not remember whether the cane you had had a cylindrical or a round shaped cap, just that it is supposidly the same cane from the begining. Derek Merdinyan |

The Harakhan appearing and vanshing metal canes are identical. Stevens Magic Emporium may have them.

Abracadabra sells the Silver Lightning Appearing and Vanishing canes. I have the appearing one and I like it!

Unless you display them side by side it doesn't matter.

I agree with Kregg, if there is any passage of time between the vanish and production, people will remember that you had the cane and vanished it, they won't notice that its slightly off color or longer, etc. when you reproduce it.
So as long as you don't use a metal cane to vanish and a black cane to produce, you should be fine. |
