Four racing cars took part in a race. At the end of the race, each car was given a serial number, according to its finishing place:
Red car: 202315 Blue car: 6152118 Green car: 15145 Yellow car: 2081855 In which order did the cars finish the race?

If the fourth digit denotes what place they came in, the order was Yellow, Blue, Red and Green.

Well spotted. However, that is not the order in which they finished.

Adding the digits together until you get a single digit number, the order is Yellow, Red, Blue and Green.
Going by magnitude alone, the order is Green, Red, Yellow and Blue. Is there more meaning to the serial numbers than the above...? |

There are, I admit, several possible ways of interpreting the numbers.
Therefore, I will add this: the order in which the cars finish does not have anything to do with the relative magnitudes of the numbers (or numbers derived from them).
