Hello fellow Magi,
I just wanted to thank everyone for the many many emails and PM's that I have received recently regarding my illusion designs. I am happy to report that due to popular demand, Chair Up There will be released as an illusion plan (instant download) on May 01 of this year. (Price TBA) This is a very exciting (and busy) time of year and I look forward to providing fully fabricated illusions later this spring. Thanks again all for the friendly messages, Chris Stolz Stolz Illusions

Amazing!! Is is safe to assume we can see completely through the "Platform" directly under the chair? The lines in your drawing lead one to think it uses a 45 degree M***** principle.. but then that wouldn't be unique enough to call it a new design or method.. so you have me baffled!! Can't wait to see it!

Yes!! You've had your site up for over a year! Do you have any video of your cool illusions??? Of your many customers who is currently doing your illusions?? I'd like to see a real video and real pictures!!! To many people are using computer generated pictures which of course means the illusion has never been made... The top designers show pictures and their client list. Where can we see your pictures?

Extre,,, gg;;s;;s;s;ss relax a bit.... Maybe he is just starting out..... However his designs looks very promising and one must start somewhere.. Remember when we start out with the mac magic stuff??? ehhehe
Also Extre by looking at the design and not seeing the actual illusion, I would assume it is a step base that you cann see half way into the steps.... then some type of black art principal... Who really knows until you see the plans or see one in action.... Just my thougths the day before easter and waitng for my 6:30 pm call time for my show... Cheers

Been on yet?
Don’t be silly Curtis, anyone who calls themselves an “Illusion Designer” can’t be just starting out! It takes many years of experience! You don’t wake up one day and say to yourself “Hey, I think I’ll be an Illusion Designer”!!!! The individual who began this thread is offering his services or idea for sale and for a potential customer it is customarily to qualify such offering to be confident with the individual’s knowledge and background of the Art and to know that what he is in fact offering is new and unique. If you are looking for a home builder for example you would want someone who has a degree in architecture and who has actually built a home and brought his designs successfully to fruition as well as having satisfied customers! And you would want to talk to his clients!! If an act has one major stage illusion I don’t think it’s appropriate that they call themselves a world famous touring Illusionist ?? Would you? But would you believe it happens… “No” you say…… yes it does! The exaggerated accolades run ramped on many performers’ websites and sadly we must sort through them to get to the truth. To get to the truth we simply ask questions. We live in a world of social hypnosis where unfortunately the ego seems to be the driving force. As Magicians performing an ART form.. The ART (their work, skills) should speak for itself, rather than the performer’s ego. This is a public board where egos are running ramped and the actual truth seems to be secondary at times. It is time to raise the bar. It is certainly appropriate to ask for credentials. I would imagine an “Illusion Designer” would have an extensive back ground in wood working, metal fabrication, a degree in engineering etc. Such a person in my opinion would have purchased and have worked with ALL the standard illusions built by the current professional builders in the industry. A designer MUST also know the magic history that has gone before him. To often performers think the Art’s history began when they were born. To call an Illusion idea their own the device MUST utilize a methodology that has not been used before. If that is what Chris is offering here I think that is to his credit and benefit and we should let him speak for himself. Far too many books and plans have been sold lately claiming to be new ideas when in actual fact they are old rehashed ideas that have been around a while and that is not fair to the buying public. |

Hello everyone,
Curtis: Although it is not the employed method, I love the idea with the steps! In response to the above post, I'll simply say that I have been performing and designing illusions for the theatre for several years. My experience in the magical field has carried on throughout my life and I have been fortunate enough to have learned from all that I have experienced thus far. What I brought to this illusion was my experience and creativity, which is based upon honest trial, error and theatrical training. The principle used in 'Chair Up There' is not new, but I personally think that it is a great application of the method and it was certainly enjoyed by all when it had it's time on the stage. I look forward to seeing it take the stage once again. I thank those of you who posted your kind responses. As my current theatrical project comes to an end, I look forward to taking the time to further advance the website and it's content. I promise nothing but the best that my experience has to offer. For those of you that enjoy my work, I thank you. I'll do my best not to let you down extremagic.

I am going to download "Chair Up There". It seems like a great illusion.
What about "The Ovation Appearance"? Can you elaborate on the details of that illusion without revealing anything? |
