There has been a ton of talk about card through window, but no one has talked about a coin through window.
Here goes: You have a spectator sign a quarter and you go through a few flourishes with the coin and set it down on the table. You do a trick or two and then pick up the quarter and toss it at the window. Well it sticks and appears to be on the outside of the window. What do you think? Has it been done? Corey B. |

I like the idea a lot! I did something very similar with football when I was a kid, except it really went through the window
Since you're 6'5", you may want to use a jumbo coin! John |

Great idea! Never even thought about this before and it seems an obvious progression from the card through window.
I don't know if you are against using stooges, but perhaps the effect would be better if one was employed? Good luck with it.

I believe I remember reading on an ad for the Marvey Version of Card Thru Window where it says almost anything can go through the window, like cds or coins I think. Although this version really really stinks. I think a better one could be devised.

Check out my new effect "As Good As It Gets" a gimmickles pencil or pen through bill effect. It closely mimmicks the slow motion phase of "Misled." About "As Good AS It Gets" for no gimmicks and everything being borrowed.

I have a way I do it. It will be in an upcoming project due out around spring time. Mine is not a signed coin, however. I also feel for this to be impressive you should be at a minimum of five stories up. Ground level would give them a solution by logic, and they would be right.

That sounds like it could be combined with card through window.
Do some tricks with cards, then card through window, coin tricks, then coin through window. |

I have been thinking about releasing my version soon. Should I? Let me know if any of you are interested.
Thanks, Corey B. |

Once, in a moment of inspiration, I came up with this Rube Goldberg-like device for making that effect work. I rigged everything up, involving pulleys and ropes and weights on the outside of the window to make a visual appearance of the coin on the outside of the window. I had everything set up and I called my mom over to witness the "miracle." The only problem was that I named the trick wrong. Instead of "Coin through window," the trick was "Rock through window."
Needless to say, my mom was amazed That was my last attempt at any sort of magic setup that involved windows and rocks. Corey, your idea sounds great. You should share it with the magic community in some way or another. BTW, if anyone wants my plans of "Rock through Window," PM me and I'll be more than happy to give them to you. Zach Allen

I know a guy who paid a window washer to stick a card to a specific window several stories above the ground. He then did card thru window. He then suggested that to get the card off you had to open the window and peel it off from the outside. When someone tried this, they were left even more amazed as the windows didn't open! Chad |

Along those same lines, I read somewhere in a vanishing bit, the magician would actually tip a hotel person to hide an object within someones room. He would later perform at there dinner table, and make the particular object vanish, only to be found later when the people return to the room. A very powerful idea, but I would hate to have people thinking I was in their room. Especially if the hotel person may have stole something!!!

I've been doing an impromptu version through the glass door. With a flase pass one hand goes on one side of the glass and as it is act to throw the coin against the glass, the other hand muscle passes the coin...which hits the glass, bounce off, and comes back into my hand. Very cool visual!

Hey John,
wasn't that routine in one of the classic renditions tapes? I believe it's John Cornelius's. |

Lonnie could you describe your card through window, or do you want to keep it on the down low. If you could describe it that would be great. Also Reed, it would be cool if you could also. But if it sounds exactly as it should be as in, you go up to the window and put the coin through it, or something of that nature just say that, lol.
That post might not have made much since but oh well. Reed's Method for coin through window is diabolical. You guys watch out for this one, it will fool you.

Hmmm, on a un-related subject. Sol Stone has a coin thru glass plate. He holds the coin under the plate then askes a person to till it back. Just then the coin is on top of the glass. No offence or anything but with out some sort of mark a coin thru window means nothing.

it does if the dates match, But that is just my opinion. To the audience it is complete randomness. if you borrow a quarter and do this trick but before hand have them remeber the date etc.
