Anyway, I agree... just stick anyone in a room with quarters and glasses and a video camera and I'm sure eventually you'll get plenty of crazy flips to show off your self, if its that important to you.... |

Sorry Daegs! That guy had precision and accuracy with near 100% consistency! Something not anyone can do! Steve

Yeah Steve, my point exactly, this stuff is at least as difficult as multiple coin rolls, coin roll outs, good muscle passes, etc.
Then it's very telling when some magicians here have blown this stuff off, having practiced some difficult but meaningless manipulations in the past, one must give this guy credit Same thing as the flourishes we do but some members say "Nah any drunk college kid could do it." This guy should be making appearances at conventions. Why not?

Sorry Daegs! That guy had precision and accuracy with near 100% consistency! Something not anyone can do! Steve This has got to be the funniest thing I've read... how do you figure 100% consistancy? Hey, you know I can show you an edited video of myself correctly guessing someone else's legitimate coin flip with 100% accuracy!!! If you give me enough time, I can also show a video of myself predicting sports games with a 100% accuracy. The video was *EDITED*... For all you know it was over a 4 year period filming every day just to get that 3 minutes of clips!!! Heck even some of the clips on the video were mistakes that just happened to work out in their favor. It is one thing if he makes all those in a row in one sitting, but if he is really shooting 4% accuracy and just cutting out the bad throws I fail to see the skill. |

Daegs, You sound jealous of his abilities. Yes the clip is edited, but not in a way that that diminishes his obvious skill. You say, "For all you know it was over a 4 year period filming every day just to get that 3 minutes of clips!!!"
Here, you are guilty of thinking like a magician for sure! LOL This could be said for a lot of magic videos offered on put file, you tube etc. but we KNOW it's not the case- Just for fun- go grab a shotglass and try to bounce a quarter in it. See how many you get out of ten. I'll try as well- cold (I never cared for this game when I was in college). And post my results- of course I could just lie about it- BUT...

Im with Daegs on this on. Give they guy $1000.00 in quarters and set a room up with a ton of glasses in different places and distances. In one UNEDITED video I would like to see most of those shots done without editing. Its a great video non the less but there is NOW WAY he did that with 100% accuracy.
Who would want to go to a convention and see some guy trying to expain that "I can make it 75% of the time." Knowone would. Its is great for the internet and college. I am not dissing the video but it is just that....a video. |

Well, my darn computer wont let me see it, but I saw a comment down there that was kinda dumb. The person said that the guy who was doing it was pathedic, and needed to get a life. I think that whatever it is, Im sure it is amazine, and requires a lot of talent. Sounds interesting.

I can't figure out whats funnier... the video or this discussion!
Even though this was edited... I was sitll very amused. actually I'm really glad they edit things before they air them on TV... or it would be quite a mess. |

Wow. The guy is amazing don't even try to rip on him. I'm sure he misses plenty but I couldn't do any of that in 1000 tries. yes, he's a huge dork but he has an amazing talent and deserves credit. Who cares if he cant do it every time? I garentee if you tried, he'd make YOU look pathetic. Quit being so skeptical and give him some praise.

My dvd contains my routine in whole unedited. I said the video was okay..Why do members here on the Café feel the need to beat a dead horse. I voiced my opinion. This is a forum for doing that correct?
I am tiard of seeing INTERNET MAGIC AND FLOURISHES. My stuff is done for real people on a regular basis. The flourshes this guy does are cool. I never said they wernt. I just said you NEED to edit it. There is no possible way all those shot were done in one take. So if I had all day I could make myself look like god on film. That is my point. The kids has skills but to what extent. I have gotten lucky before trying new stuff. I wanna see it work every time. The stuff on my dvd is possible to do OVER and OVer and OVer if you practice. A couple of those shots that kid did like breaking the glass were just really good Lucky shots that produced dramatic results. Learn things you can use in the real world. I had no problem with this thread before but now I am very interested. UMMMM..YOur turn. |

My buddy used to roll quarters off of his nose. He was rock solid. We started to count how many times he could sink it in a shot glass off his nose, we stopped counting around 100. I'm not saying the guy in this video is bad or anything. But this is not that big of a deal. It's cool yes, but as I said we were screwing around with quarters and trick shots years ago. Is this really something new to you guys?
I realize that I live in Milwaukee and we drink a lot of beer and play a lot of drinking games, but this is not really anything new to me. It a cool little video. But hardly earth shattering stuff.
