Kid Iowa and Lee,
You are certainly right about the shoes. A few months back, after I had completed a set, a young fellow approached me and said that he wanted to be a street performer. He looked at my table and the cups which were still on the table. I was watching him! He asked what was the most important equipment that I thought he should buy. I answered, "A good pair of shoes." He smirked and walked away. I guess that was not the answer he wanted. Gerald |

I have to second and third that thing about a good pair of shoes.
A few years ago, I was beginning to lose my feet. My arches were collapsing, and I was miserable. I know you have seen those commercials for the "Good Feet" orthotics. Lemme tell you something. I got TWO sets of their best ones. They are not cheap. In fact, they cost more than a dozen sets of the shoes I usually wear. But they feel great on my tired, old feet. Now, I don't have to use them all the time. But if I'm out walking or sightseeing, I have those babies on. I also use genuine rubber liners for my shoes. They work better for me than gel inserts. YMMV.

Oh, yes. I definitely have busked.
What we got paid at the Renaissance Festivals was a pittance. Very often, I have worked for a hat.

What's been said above is priceless - take heed.
I also have a pack of "Wet Wipes" in order to freshen up may face and hands between shows. Kindest Regards Dominick |

Hey guys, kind of new to this thread. But I've always carried the following in my rig . Sunblock (because I spark like a fork in a microwave), strong shoes like everyone has said, my hat for collecting and sun defense, chap stick (w/ sunblock), about 20 ft. of good rope, and usually 2-3 bottles of ice water, and a bag of mixed fruit. And maybe a redbull every once in a while. And a few more little things like batteries for my PA, duct tape, and a throw away camera. You never know when you're on the street who's going to walk by.
