Hello,

I would like to introduce myself, my name is Scott Raymond. Some of you might know me from over at MagicTalk where I've been a long time member, and once upon a time, was a HOST there at their chat.

I've been working as a professional magician for years, performing close-up magic at restaurants and resorts all over Michigan.

Several years ago, in an attempt to move from close-up magician, to stage performer, I began to collect and study classic mentalism texts. i've just recently finished putting together my first, one-man mindreading act and I am currently workshopping with audiences here in my area.

I'm looking forward catching up on a lot of great posts here, and even more to exchanging ideas with those of you who have similar interests and experiences.

As far as the Michigan thing goes? I grew up, in Northern Lower Michigan (Charlevoix) and my wife and I currently live in a little town (Haslett) just east, of East Lansing.

We've only been in here just about a year, having moved from the Grand Rapids area where I know many fellow magicians.

Hi Scott: I know the areas well. My wife is from Kalamazoo but she's got relatives all over. I spent a lot of time in magic clubs in Grand Rapids.

As far as "workshopping" my show with an audience?

I've had great fun testing effects and my script with "real folks" at a local Lions club here in my area.

Together we've had a lot of fun and I've found their feedback invauable.
