I got a puzzle book I was looking for years...
I will post a gem or two from the book each few days. Where exactly on the moon can you see the "earth-rise" and "earth-set"? N. |

My guess is that you can't, since one side of the moon is always facing the earth.

I got curious, so I cheated and Googled. I won't spoil it for anyone mulling this over -- there actually is an answer that is not "you can't."

I'm resisting the temptation to Google for it, too.
My guess is that there is a slight wobble to the moon's spin, so that there are places near the poles that point enough towards the earth at times that you see it, and away from the earth enough the rest of the time that you don't. Now I have to go see.
