I have a Macintosh and I have seen that he IBM website is EXTREMELY slow for my PC, compared to any other site. Is tehre something special "agains" macintosh computers or it's a question of web browser (I use Netscape 7.0).
Is there any MAC user with similar problems? // The Bonnie Kids |

I have a IMAC computer and a Windows XP computer set up here. Both computers
work well with the IBM site. My IMAC is using the Safari Browser that came with the IMAC. So far the Safari browser is the best one I have ever used in my 17 years of computer experience. I suspect your Netscape browser is the problem! John Rogers ..... New Castle, Indiana USA |

Thanks for your comment Rogers...
I'll try Safari... Good to know that there are no MAC related problems. Thanks again // Andrea |

I will agree with John on this. I finally gave up on IE as they no longer support the MAC. The Safari is a great search egine and does not seem to crash as much.

The brand of computer you use should have no bearing on the speed with which it loads any given website. The specifications of that computer will. If you have more memory, then you will be able to render graphics on a website, within your browser of choice, more quickly.

I'm on an eMac and have dialup and the site loads surprisingly fast. I switched to Safari and that made a world of difference.

All a website is, is a blueprint known as html coding and graphics. since safaru has some image speed enhancing features, I couldn't see why it takes longer to load. IT may seem that way since ie and safari has different protocols for loading partially loaded images.

I'm on a Mac G4 using Firefox as my primary browser (and also use Safari).
The IBM page opens at a normal speed like most websites . |
