I have NEVER seen the trick presented like this with a such a mentalism bend. I'll try it out and see how it goes. There are trick decks out there like Regals'...ECT, that kinda does the same thing but I didn't realize you can accomplish the same effect with a deck you probably already own. The presentation was good too, well mannered..ect. Ed, (Eddini) ... Oooooowww !!!

The Malone method is his adaptation of Mike Skinner's routine. You might like to take a look at the Mike Skinner version in his book Classic Sampler. Since learning the trick from Mike's book, I have done it hundreds of times for lay audiences with great results. It is real magic. This is one of the most under appreciated tricks on the market.
Good luck.

I perfer the original method, this is quite boring, especially the patter!

I have a very short attention span. I gave it a chance, but just couldn't get through it. The premise is good, but the script needs to be memorized so that it's smooth as silk, instead of the performer trying to think of what comes next. A rewrite and some more thought given to the presentation would be good, too.

I agree with Alan and Rambam, this was very boring. There are so many great things possible with the mental photography deck, why would you do just this one?
It'd seem like the patter this person wanted to use would be more suited for Dean Dill's Blizzard. |

The premise was good up until all the cards, except the King, were shown all blank. I felt it needed a stronger ending, as making the King blank was anti-climatic and didn't really fit the premise of telepathing the one card to the spectator.

Although I didn't like the patter, I like the simplicity of this version of Mental Photography. But, when I practiced it, I realized that in the end you're left with a gaffed blank deck of cards ribbon spread in front of the audience. Not a good thing.

I think it wasn't that bad. I you think he made it wrong, learn from his "mistakes". I really like the simplicity of the handling with a mp deck. you can shape the patter this presentation and get maybe a stronger touch. I liked it.

I don't know if I can say it for exposure reasons but wouldn't the gimmicked part of the king rub off or get all fuzzy from the mat?

Well to each there own. BTW I got and LOVE Blizzard. I just LOVE this routine. I think it's a new and ingenious way of doing M.P. I don't believe it's anti-climatic. I DO HOWEVER think that YES the patter can be better. As I said Bill Malone's Routine (Based on Skinner's) and THIS ONE are BY FAR the best I've seen, Ed, (Eddini) ... Ooooowww !!!

I like the idea of going from a "regular" deck to a blank deck, rather than starting with it blank and going back and forth a la Malone. I think if/when I next use my MP deck I might look into this type of patter, as people do tend to like the "...but now everything's blank!" kicker. I agree that the presentation seemed a bit bland, but I definitely like the concept.

It works for me, since my mind is always blank... ..
