Joe's website is at: http://joemogar.tripod.com/
Needless to say the site is full of great stuff! His knives are the best IMHO. This DVD is long awaited (by me) and I am still waiting for him to produce his thimble DVD.

I saw Joe Mogar’s Lecture on color-changing knives and it was great I can’t wait to get the DVD. I have 32 of his knives and I am really proud to use them. They handle perfectly.

I received my Chameleon Knives DVD from Joe Mogar. I am very pleased with it. I found everything that I need to know about knife magic. I plan on working with these moves and routines until I have them perfected. This is something that I will be using on a study basis. I already own the Stag Sensation knife set and I will be ordering the Knife from purse and a couple of Pocket Pals. I really enjoy doing the knives.

I'm really looking forward to getting mine too. Hopefully in the next day or so. I've been using Whit Haydn's dvd as well as Mark Wilson's. Neither is as extensive as this one appears to be.

I've had the dvd for a couple of days now. It's not quite as good as schmoozing with Joe at a convention, but its close...
I learned the basics from Joe when I bought my first set of knives. Best, Jon |

It's an "Encyclopedia of Color Changing Knife Moves" and routines. I'd say it's an indepensible DVD for CC Knife enthusiasts.
But, for the record, I wish that he had credited me for the routine "Technicolor Knives" on the DVD. It's basically my routine that was published in Genii Magazine (Volume 63, Number 2 - February 15, 2000), which Joe later sold as "The Technicolor Changing Knives" set for $63. postpaid. On the DVD, the switches are different - on the table behind silks vs. in the pocket or a Double Edge Knife Case. But, I think that's about the only difference. It's not THAT big of a deal, but Joe should have given me credit on the DVD for my routine, just for the record. Robert |

Robert:
Kudos for your gentlemanly response regarding crediting for your "Technicolor Knives" routine on Mr. Morgor's "Chameleon Knives" DVD. I actually have a set of the knives and silks Mr. Morgor marketed to support your routine, which appeared in Genii. It seems like you should have gotten credit for inspiring Mr. Morgor's routine which, like your routine, changes the color of the knives via brushing/covering them with colored silks. Since this is a DVD, there is no easy solution, such as changing the printed instructions to reflect the credit due to you. Guy Camirand and/or Joe, do you have any suggestions on how Mr. McDaniel might be properly credited? Steve H

Thanks, Steve. I contacted Joe and am awaiting a response, but as you said, there's not much they can do at this point.

I think that I saw this DVD on sale at a magic store recently, I would probably buy it.

This a good DVD to learn the moves, HOWEVER, I was somewhat disappointed with the Routines section. Most DVD's I've come across show the routine, and then the explanation, which allows you to see it in it's entirety. All, (except one I seem to remember), show the routine BUT explain it along the way.
I felt that this let the DVD down terribly. Some of Camirand's videoing/focusing skills need to be honed too, you get some "out-of-focus" moments when close-up demos are being performed. That said, it's a great DVD for learning the moves, and I'm eagerly awaiting my delivery of "The Perfect Knives" for the routine of the same name. Bruce |

I've seen both kinds of teaching method. I feel that the best way is to show the whole routine, then explain the moves involved. Then show the whole routine with the moves explained as they are brought into the routine. Moves need to be explained separately so they can be learned properly.
Regarding the blurriness of the DVD from Camirand, I have a feeling that this is one of those that was originally done in VHS, then transferred to DVD. Often this kind of work suffers when it is brought across the media.

I read in the description of the DVD that the routine for the "Fantasy Knives" is not included. I wonder if this is a typo in the description or if there are other routines in the DVD that are superior to the one supplied with the the Fantasy Set that would explained in the DVD.
Thanks, QH. |

Got the video, it is a great resource for moves. No trace of the Fantasy knives routine though... Mr. Mogar really knows his knivesl. I wonder about buying the pocket pal, it seems like a nice resource, not just for knives.

What knives do you need for the routines? (ie, color, size, etc.) ..
