I was wondering if I have a problem with my DVD, or if the problem is with the master recording as it seems. The DVD is "Ammar's Easy to Master Card Miracles Vol. 1." This is what happens:
In Chapter 13 at time: 15:44:8, there is a noise, and the sound drops noticeably. It is still watchable, but for a while the sound is quite low. If this is a problem with all of them, fine, I will live with it, but, if it is just mine, I would want to get it replaced at L&L Publishing, where I bought it. thanks, -erik |

Mmm this sounds familiar. I will check my DVD and see if I have the same problem.

Great. Thanks for letting me know. This saves me the time of returning it for no reason!

Yes, I didn't notice it before, but I went back and checked and mine does the exact same thing. Very observant.

I think I noticed it because I was watching the video on my laptop, where the audio is low to begin with...

Mine has a funny sound, Ammar says, "I was in a bar, I'm showing a guy some magic trick, right ,ehhh. Pull out a card for me if you will." Right when Ammar says, "ehhh," the sound sounds distorted but remains at the same volume. I got my DVDs about a month ago. Maybe it's a new batch of copies?

I had a similar problem with a McBride DVD a few months back. I called L&L (spoke with Tanya) and they were happy to exchange. That was an isolated instance...it sounds like the Ammar DVDs has a production problem. I'm sure they would appreciate a call to let them know...maybe they can do something to correct the problem.
Cheers!

Hey how ironic... not the same title DVD but I had problems with the Intro to Coin Ammar DVD recently. Check this out:
http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......;forum=3 and after verifying with another member "Sneakers" he said that he did notice some pauses on his copies around the same spots (though only on his software DVD player, which was fixed with upgraded software).

This problem does seem to be a production problem, since other notice it as well - I will pass it along to L&L as you guys recommend.
I didn't mention earlier, but the problem occurs the same way on two standard DVD players, my PSX2, and on my laptop with two different software players. thanks for your feedback, guys, -erik |

It does appear that L&L is having quality control issues with whoever is responsible for their transfers/duplication. I also had trouble with a portion of my Ammar Coin DVD, while my older McBride AoCM series is trouble-free.

I sent a message to L&L explaining the ETMCM vol. 1 problem, and how at least six people on this TMC confirmed the same problem, but they responded offering to replace my DVD.
I reiterated that it was not just _MY_ DVD, and recommended that they try one of theirs, to see if the problem exists on all of them. Haven't heard back yet, though. -erik |

Erik:
I have had audio problems with a number of L&L's DVDs, from Ammar's to Lorayne's to Bill Malone. Glad to know it's not me or my computer.

When I mentioned this thing to the guys at Ammar, they said they hadn't heard of any complaints yet. Though it looks like it could be an L&L issue which seems to make the problem more global.

This is not a major problem, it is watchable, and I can hear all the words, but the audio becomes low for a while. I just turn up the volume. This is only a problem on my computer, because the audio is sort of low to begin with, even when 'cranked'.
Thanks for all your responses to this post. -erik |

If you think about it, if this happened on a VHS you could blame the tape, but if it happens on DVD then it must be a problem with the master copy as DVDs contain error correction code... and if the disk was scratched the chances are you wouldn't get a picture either.

Do any of you have any advice on "loops"?
I'm from Toronto Canada and the store I go to (Morrissey magic) is out. Anyone from Toronto or Brampton want to trade? Thanks Jay aka Brampton magic |
