Dan,
It's a pleasure to chat with you. I've had the great pleasure of seeing your act a few times at the Magic Castle before moving out East. I am also a fan of the Sylvester Pitch, I use it mostly with my Jumbo Coin work. Thanks for putting that out. I do have a question, you do this amazing thing with a giant comb, have you explained that anywhere? If not, will you ever? Thanks again. Cheers, Bill |

Ha Ha! I have had such mixed reaction with that trick. When I do it some folks may jump out of their chairs bow doun and worship me while others just look ant it like they were watching a light bulb burn out.
Explaining it would be kinda silly cause no one who Ive showed it to can do it. Not only that but mostly because it has become very difficult to find larger dresser combs. I always loose them myself and have only one right now. Do you think anyone would buy this effect if there was video or something with it? Cause I hardly ever do it anymore. Dan Sylvester |

Humm. Well actually no. I will try but it will sound lame. Basicaly I have a big dressing comb and I comb my hair with it. Then say I have some wild static in my hair check this out. I put the comb teeth doun on someones hand. The fingers of my left hand resting on the top edge, the comb balancing teeth down on a spectators palm. The comb starts to quiver... and vibrate then it rises upward against my fingers. My right hand appers to direct it against my left. Then the left hand turns over with eh comb up and the right hand seems to cause the comb to quiver and swing back and forth on it edge where it contacts my left hand fingers. Suddenly with my right hand gives a dramatic sort of power movement which causes the comb to push doun against the fingers of my left hand. The the right hand trails away from the left about 2 feet and staps its fingers. The comb leaps from the left hand fingers to the right hand. Then the comb is placed on the back of the hand and again it leaps up about two feet. There are a few other strange things that seem to defy gravity and then while I hold the comb horisonally by the far edge of the Big teeth. My right hand comes down gragging it ant throwing it in the air where it disappears entirely the instantly returns to the right hand. This happens once more but this time thc comb seems to melt into a silk in mid air. I grab the silk handkerchief and put it in my jacket pocket. And that the end. Now does that seem to make any sence?

I know I would buy it. The reason I liked it is because it is something extraordinary with an ordinary object. Cheers,

It is so !@#$%^! hard to do though that I don't think any one would do it...Plus I don't have a source for the combs.

Saw Dan do this.. it is very cool. I also saw him attempting to explain it to someone in a hospitality suite. The guy couldn't do it at all. Dan can do some weird sh... stuff with his hands that makes this possible!

Well when I do it off the back of my hand yes but when it jumps from the fingertips of my left hand it works completely differant.
