Anyone know anything about Califone PA systems? Are they good or bad? I've been helping a buddy of mine to find a small lightweight system that he can use for schools and such. He asked me if I knew anything about a company called Califone. Never heard of them myself but thought maybe someone else has.
Any thoughts? |

Good no frills system. I have PA300UHF-PL Presentation Pro with wireless UHF (I can go wired), let's me add more mics and speakers as I need. Not the loudest but good sound, good for a small audience. It looks like they now have models that uses a rechargeable battery.

Califone makes nice quality products, and the provide great service.
I have two of their small belt clip voice enhancers that I use all the time at small house parties, and strolling gigs where it is noisy. I have a 2w and a 5w.I recommend the 5 watt. I have never used any of their other systems, but I think the the quality is probably there also. Good company. http://www.todaysclassroom.com/shop/pa-systems/page2.html |

Califone has been around for years (at least the name has been) I still have and used on in college to call square dances as it had a turntable, 4 speed, pitch control and a pa all in one. But that was a few year ago.

I don't believe it would work at least not in a manner I would like to present; not over driven and consistent audio for everyone.
You need at least two more powerful powered speakers for 500 people are perhaps four or more of the smaller powered speakers depending on the acoustic environment. |
