I just got Guy Bavlis' video on spoon bending, volume 1.
I was wondering if any body knew of the best method for switching one spoon for another in order to "melt" a spoon. P.M. me or post anything else metal bending related in this thread. I would love to hear other peoples ideas on this subject. I can tell Its going to take loads of practice before I can bend spoons like Alain Nu. jonathan

Hi,
There is normally no need to switch it. Just bring it into play with the others you collect. At a table, I have been known to just lay one down next to another and then pick up the one I need. Stan |

I do almost the same thing that Stan does with the exception that I don't line them up. I prefer to let them in a haphazard order and to "casually" pick up the one(s) I need.

Hi
Once a spectator has examined a few of the spoons and is happy that they are normal it shouldn't be a problem to pick up another spoon at "random" and bring it into play. Max, I'm interested to know how many spoons you display in your 'haphazard' fashion. |

If you want to discuss it further you can PM me. Max Jonathan, by the way, if you can you should buy it Patrick Kuffs and Gerry & Banachek videotapes on metal bending. In my opinion they are far better than the Bavli tapes. Also, a good booklet that I rarely see mentioned is Key Bending by Mark Walker (it's old and I don't know if it is still in print but if you can, get it.) And of course, Ben Harris has written a good book on the subject. Max |

Dark, Where are you getting that routine that you are working on? I know of a few methods of spoon bending but have never seen one that involves switching spoons. In my case I use the sleeve to add to the pile of spoons that have been collected. Heck I even have 2 people from the audience check the spoons for trickery! (Just like that Uri guy!)

well first thing im brand new to spoon magic. I will PM you with the method I am thinking of. however i dont mean "switch" spoons so much as i mean allow for everything to be inspected and then pick up a prepaired spoon.or even better hand out some spoons and then colect them again and melt it.

Most of you probably know this true story, but it's well worth repeating. A Swedish woman claimed she got pregnant from watching Uri Geller on the television. Puzzled, she insisted on a full examination, and the doctors discovered that her I.U.D. had straightened. (I'm NOT making this up). She blamed Uri and his Geller effect.
You spoon benders might want to check up on getting liability insurance for this. Regards, Caleb Strange.

But I think, and maybe I'm wrong, that what Jonathan insists on calling "switching" should be intended more like "adding". Indeed, usually, you add a spoon or two to the others (of course you can also switch them for others!) Jonathan? Max |

yeah max for the most part your right. I made a foolish mistake by useing the word switch. (pleas read my last post in this thread) however what if i passed out only one spoon and then switched it for a prpaired spoon or even easier. passed out 3 spoons and held on to a prpaired spoon and then collected them all and "melted" the one nobody inspected.

YOu should hand out about 10 spoons. Then have the prepared one sleaved. You can then add it in to the mix of 10 and it will go unnoticed. If you are in a restaurant, excuse yourself to go to the bathroom and on your way pickup a spoon from a nearby table. While in the bathroom, put in the work for melting it. Then put it back when you come back tot he table. When its time to melt the spoon, have someone get the spoon from another table that you prepared. This seems to preclude any work from having been put into the spoon as it was on another table!
