Does anyone know if McBride's Spinning Card Production in also Audley Walsh's Pop Up Card Production. Either way I think I have come up with an improvement that allows the card to be shot farther from the hands. This is NOT Walsh's Long Distance Spinner BTW. It's similar to a snap production but harder, and you release the card so it spins quickly from your hand. Also the grip is different. I can almost hit the ceiling. It has taken me about a year of practice so far and I still only catch the card about half the time. PM me for more details.

I am a huge McBride fan, and I have been searching all over for that move. I like to learn flourishes that have little point other to impress and relieve boredom. I'm working on a few of my own, but I am definetly interested in learning that move. Any info you could give me would br greatly appreciated. haasman04@yahoo.com Thanx in Advance, Chris |

This move will take months of cotinious practise.
You can just do 2 'long spinners' in each hand, gives the exact same effect, although 10 times easier! Take care.
Try try and try again.

Joe and Chris,
In my card manipution routine I use a one handed spin which I believe is the one you are referring to that Jeff McBride performs on stage. It can be done with either hand or both at the same time allowing the cards to pass each other in the air. I use it from the left hand to allow cards to spin into the top hat. See the details in the Secrets Forum. Larry Barnowsky aka Count Elmsley |

Two long spinners are a slightly different effect in that the cards are visible before the spinning "production". Either way lots of practice are necessary especially if your intentions are to catch the cards after they cross in the air.

I also worked out a version of this move after watching the clip of McBride on World's Greatest Magic II about one hundred times *laugh. The basic move I devised is very simple (so simple, in fact, that I showed a female friend who has watched me practice magic for a few years but who herself has no experience with magic or manipulation how to do the move in about two minutes), the part that is tricky is getting the cards to go where you want them to, but even that can come with normal practice fairly quickly. I would like to compare notes with some of you who have your own version. I practice my card manipulation with highly "distressed" cards so they don't shoot very far as the tension is not quite the same, but with newer cards you could get some decent height/distance.
