I first got into magic back in 1992 when I was about 10 yrs old. My interest grew rapidly and I found myself attending convention after convention, rubbing elbows with Simon Lovell, Paul Harris, Eugene Burger, Jeff McBride, and so on.

Not surprisingly these were the same people that made up my magic video library. These people inspsired me in ways I cannot put into words!

My focus was always on cards, especially flourishes (I was doing 4 way one handed cuts probably while I was still 13!) I was honored even to take private one on one lessons from the man himself Bob Fitch, to the best of my memory this was in 93-94.

In 1995 my focus was lifted away from my magic practice to UFOs and the Paranormal, and then as I went further into my teenage years my focus shifted more towards my social life, school, popularity and so on. While magic was always in my heart, I had not practiced for many years.

Recently in need of extra spending money, I started selling various used items, such as old video games etc on eBay. After I had sold all of games, still in need of extra money I decided to dig up and sell my magic videos. Before I could sell them I just had to watch them one more time!

Watching them inspired me to pick up a deck of cards again, and well I havent been able to put them down since. I began practicing again. To feed my need for a magic fix, I started searching for news about the magic field and what I had missed over the years. I came across the Magic Café! I have spent MANY hours since then reading through various posts.

My need for insane visual magic has finally been quenched, there are so many great sources for flourishes and great flashy knuckle busting card work. DeVo & Jerry, the Buck Twins, Cap Casino, Brian Tudor, Lee Asher, and im sure there are more who have this style of "flourish, and flourish magic". I am hooked! I WILL be purchasing ALL books and videos by the above for sure!

I am not really a performer, I have not done a trick for anyone for MANY years. For me it isn't about performing, it is not about the audience reaction, rather it is about the rapid fire of nuerons and brain activity that occurs when I work on flourishes and slieghts. I do magic and flourishes for myself, because of this I have a completely different way of looking at the entire art.

In the future I do perhaps see myself performing for others, but if so it would be my own style with the mindset expressed above. Basicallly, my magic, my way, by my rules. Most likely focusing on competition perfomance as opposed to bookings for the public.

I feel that I am a very creative individual, as such I am focusing on a variety of effects that I plan to market in the future. As well as other products some of which I feel will be revolutionary.

My real name is Justin Schneiderman, when I was a younger performer (birthday parties etc) I went by the name Justin Illusion. Getting back into magic, I am still working on my name, my original idea was "Justin Sane", but I felt the whole "just in ..." idea just seemed silly. So for now it is just plain "Jay Sane". any ideas anyone? what do you think of the "Justin Sane" idea?

well I have rambled on about myself enough, I really just wanted to say HI to all the brilliant minds on the forum. I look forward to growing, sharing, and conversing with all of you.

Thank You!!! for making this forum such a great place to be!

Let me be the first to welcome you to the Café, Jay. I'm sure you'll have a great time here. I think using your name of Justin with a tag word works just fine. I kind of like your original of Justin Illusion. Don't be afraid to ask questions. We're all here to help. Have a snack on my bill while you visit and enjoy yourself.

Hi Justin Smile Smile Smile
Your name is good enough, plus there is a more famous Jay(Sankey) whom you will always remind of. So you will always be compared with him-I guess. If I were you I would use Justin. However, It is not the supreme importance for the success, itis how you are performing. You have such a nice resume and I am sure that you are doing fine. I hope we will hear about you soon and we will say that -we know him when he was not so famous !!!.
By the way please have a cup of strong Turkish coffee on my bill.
