I am a dealer for a couple of custom ATA case companies. I want to try and design a well priced ATA case for magic.
What kind of things do you want in a case?

A good ratio of weight to durability is important. If you are only going to send it by your own truck, casters are a must. If not, removable casters would be a plus. There are ways of building cases so that casters can be attached and removed from them and they will still be within ATA spec.
Also NO unstable polyurethane foam. There was a batch of green foam a few years back that broke down under heat and humidity and ate the expletive deleted off some of the illusions. Carpet makes an excellent liner for cases. Ease of packing props is paramount. Ease of removing them is also important. A place to pack each tool that is used in setup is important.

I will see what I can come up with. I am thinking about making one that has a retractable handle and recessed casters so it can be rolled around like carry on luggage.
Several divided areas in the case and even in the lid. All the foam would be high quality foam. I can also do a breiefcase sytle case with a divided interior. Lined in velvet and/or high quality foam. Do these things seem like something you could use?

There are already several dealers that sell a "close-up" case made with dividers, etc. So the market might be slim there. However, I cannot recall seeing anyone offer a case for magicians to place most of their bigger pieces into, such as linking rings, dove pans, die boxes, etc. The people that manufacture the rolling tables offer the space inside the table as a means of transporting the stuff, but it is hardly safe and secure, banging around inside of one of those. I think the best style of case would be one that could store several small props, have casters at one end and a slide out handle at the other end, so you could pull it behind you. And completely foam lined with at least 1" foam.
