Hi all--
I have done my research before I posted this and have read all that I could find here in The Magic Café and other web-design websites. And that is the reason I am posting, I am confused. I have created an HTML sales letter to send to opt-in clients. Can anyone explain how to copy it into the "body" of the letter? I wrote the letter in my HTML program because I wanted to use different styles and colors as well as a photo or two. I receive this type of e-mail every day, so I know it is possible. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, The Conjurer |

Well, it depends on what type of computer and e-mail client you're using. If you're using Outlook on a Windows machine, then this will work...
View your HTML letter in Internet Explorer. Under the File menu, choose "Send..." then "Page by Email..." This will bring up the page in Outlook. There will be an extra horizontal line at the top, but you can delete that. There are a few other things to consider before sending. (You may already know this stuff, but just in case...) Some ISP's limit the number of recipients you can forward a single e-mail to. This is to prevent their users from spamming. So, depending on your list size you may need to break up your list into smaller chunks. In order to protect the privacy of your recipients, you shouldn't put the addresses in the "To:" field. At a minimum, you should use the "BCC:" You may want to consider using a mass e-mailing service. They simplify the process and provide lots of useful reporting about how many of the e-mails were opened, who clicked on what links, and so forth. The one I use is http://www.intellicontact.com . There's a free 15 day trial, so you could use it to send out this message free and then decide whether you want to pay to keep using it. -Brad |

One thing I forgot to mention. The HTML page has to be hosted on the internet somewhere for the sending method I described to work. If it's on your hard drive, the message will be created with your page as an attachment instead of being the body of the e-mail.

TC,
Before you get too gung ho on the idea of HTML email, please note: Because most HTML emails that are send are spam (unsolicited sales or marketing pieces) several of the poplular email programs (including MS Entourage) interpret them as such and place them directly into the Junkmail folder when they are received. So some of the people you write to will never see all your hard work. Peter |

Opt in clients it is okay to send HTML letters in my opion AKA fan club/fan mail... But what I have experience for sales.....I get better results if I just send a short regular email... Stating: Greetings to my email contacts, ............. I jsut wanted to let you know I will be perofrming at........
OR Greetings, I came across your email address and I was wondering who handles your entertainment and promotions.... .... In my opion this is much better than an advertisement.........
