For those interested in magic history you may be interested in a recent publication;
Textualities - Magic Afoot

This is a literary magazine/paperback published in Edinburgh.
The main interest for magicians will be three items;

1) A piece by Gordon Bruce, the respected Scottish cardman and magic historian, about his discovery of an article on early magic practices (Greek, Roman, Medieval) by Arthur Watson. This author was unknown, and the article was published in an old 8-volume set of books on archeology!

2) A great article by the late Bob Read about trying to discover who Arthur Watson was. This reads like a detective novel and involves blind alleys, a great cast of supporting helpers and the British Library.

3) The original text from the Arthur Watson article including the illustrations used from the original article. This article is the likely source for most of the chapters on magical history in the books on your bookshelves!

I believe Bob Read lectured about his search and there may have been a piece about it in Genii.

The rest of the magazine has poetry, prose etc. There are also a couple of pieces about Roslyn Chapel (i.e. Da Vinci Code.) and Roslyn Valley.
I have loaned my copy out so I can’t be more specific (or be accurate with spelling).

Textualities cost me 12 pound (UK) plus postage.

I have six locks on my door all in a row. When I go out, I only lock every other one. I figure no matter how long somebody stands there picking the locks, they are always locking three. Elayne Boosler
