I just wanted to let you in on a major milestone in pitching. This August, at the magic get-together in Colon, Michigan, S. David Walker will be releasing his DVD titled, "The Gospel of The Svengali According to S. David Walker"

I just finished watching this. It is a masterpiece of teaching. It is a DVD and written material covering the moves and psychology of the Svengali pitch by a man who has been doing this pitch for over fifty years.

The introduction is by Warpo, the famous New Orleans street magician. The DVD is a bit less than an hour long.

As far as the mechanics of the pitch go, David has it down to two moves. David also talks about how he learned the pitch and many of the people and adventures he has had over the years.

The psychology of the pitch has never been touched on in this manner before. David is a unique, totally charming man, the kind you meet once in a lifetime.

The DVD and printed material will be first released at the convention. David will be appearing there, as well as Don Driver. I have also heard rumors that Mark Lewis will be there and quite possibly one other Svengali legend...it will be a pitchman's heaven.

The works are going on for distribution after the convention so if you can't go, you will still be able to get this DVD. It is a once in a lifetime opportunity to see how a Svengali legend looks at the business with the benefit of fifty years of experience.

The price will be $25.

This certainly sounds interesting, and I know it will be useful for anyone who pitches Svengali Decks. It's probably also a valuable piece of "Svengali history," too.

For accuracy I must mention that Mark Lewis has just told me he will be unable to attend the convention.

I'm really looking foward to checking out this new DVD. The thing about David is that he has so many hilarious lines that he uses in his pitch. They change all the time, and he may pull one out that he hasn't used in 30 years. But he's made me laugh outloud with his pitches.

Hope he does well with it.

That's a rotten shame about Mr Lewis. It would have been nice to get Don, David and Mark together. That would have been like, 300 years of Sven deck pitching experience all in one place! OK maybe not 300 years, but a lot of years.
