I've been studying Now You See It, Now You Don't!: Lessons in Sleight of Hand by Bill Tarr for a year. I've decided to check out The Magic Book.
I am not asking for a review, because I don't doubt Mr. Lorayne's work, but I have a quick question - how much of a presentational/theoretical aspect does it have? Henry Hay's AMH covered it quite a bit, so I was wondering if TMB would have more than just a few thoughts on it. Thanks. Posted: Aug 6, 2006 11:35am ----------------------------- Never mind. Got it solved. |

My suggestion??? Get the book. You won't be disappointed.

I agree, Mark.
About 80 items (cards, coins, sleights, "self-working", number magic, magic square, miscellaneous items, presentations, various tips including Harry's Afterthoughts at the end of each routine). Very clear instructions, excellent illustrations. I bought this when it was released in 1977. Best $10 I spent..........apart from Close-Up Card Magic. Richard |

I love Harry Lorayne's stuff. "Close-Up Card Magic" was the best book that happened to me early in my magic experience.
