Banachek:
Upon listening to your Radio Mentalism audiotapes, I was interested to note that you seem to talk quite fast when doing your radio broadcast bits. Similar in pace to some of the fast-paced radio hosts on whose shows you were a guest. As one who tends to talk too fast when talking informally with friends and colleagues and who is striving to speak much slower when presenting magic or mentalism (and this, based on the advice of some pretty smart advisers including a theatrical coach), I am curious as to whether you quickened your pace of speech for your radio guest appearances or whether you find that generally a fast pace of talking works for you. to be honest, I talk way too fast. I have to remind myself to slow down. Especially down south
Truly, it is a weakness I have. I am not sure if it is because of my heritage. I am kind of a mutt, Born in England, lived in South Africa and the U.S. But I doubt it, I just think it may be a bad habit I have. And somthing I am always working on. :-)

Thanks for your candid answer! And there I was, hoping you'd explain why a faster-paced talking style leads to a superior magical impact (perhaps some NLP-tinged theory about messing with their minds by sending out multiple messages or something like that!). Or that a fast-pace was a necessary marketing tool to get booked on today's fast-paced shock-jock radio talk shows. However, I will take your comment to my own heart, since as I noted I myself have been advised to slow down my pace of speech . . . ! (My excuse for talking too fast is simple: I was born and raised in New York City!)
