I was told I would need to be able to do these to handle some packet tricks I want to purchase (ie. Queens out of control) but don't know anything about either. I have some physical limitations and would like to find out if they are beyond my capability before I buy them. Is there anyplace I can find an explanation or see them demonstrated?

The Ascanio move/spread and Elmsley count can be a tad tricky with new slippery cards. You are most likely needing a reasonably firm grip with your left thumb and third finger. Jon Racherbaumer wrote a book on the Ascanio move with some applications.
The Elmsley count also requires a firm grip with the outer right and inner right corners of packet(assuming you are right handed). I hope this helps a little..

Don't always count the trick out if you can't do these moves... I hate to say it but I never have learned either of these moves. I usually find a way to do the same effect with the same packet cards, with out these moves... Just be creative. I have found their is usually an easier way to do just about 1/2 of the effects I have bought.
