Hey everybody, I have to share what I'm up to right now because IT'S CRAZY!!!! I've posted on here before about my obsession with strange oddities. Well here's my latest adventure.....I have been finding two headed calves like crazy lately (what's going on?!). I found 2 of them in North Dakota---I got one's skull and the other one, I got the skull and I'm having the thing taxidermied. I also got one recently from Kansas....full bodied with one regular looking head with a weird smaller head attached to it.....I'm getting a full taxidermy done of this one. Anyway, here's the weird one.......I heard about a two headed calf being born near where I'm from down south. I contacted the old farmer and found out that he had buried the animal when it died!!!! He told me that the animal had two separate heads with two necks and two spines that connected at the back. Of course, being the weirdo that I am, I asked how long has the animal been in the ground. Unfortunately, it had been in the ground for 10 days....that's bad. I couldn't believe that I had missed this one. Then I got lucky.....I met a local woman who does skeleton articulation and the light bulb went on!!! I contacted the guy about digging up the calf and he said I could. Well, I just heard from my Mom (yes my Mom...I come from a strange family) and she's is going over to the farm to dig up this animal!!!!!! MOMS ARE THE BEST!!! I'll fill ya'll in on the progress.......I'm sure it's going to be SICK (the calf has now been in the ground for over 20 days!). I told her she has to videotape this craziness----CSI Oddities. If it all goes well, I'll send ya'll photos of the two headed calf skeleton when it's articulated.

Well...so far things haven't gone well with the "dig". I haven't been able to find anyone who will let me freeze a rotten 2 headed calf in their freezer (I wonder why?!). We're now considering how to ship a rotten animal without frezing it. This is HILARIOUS!!!!! Does anyone have any ideas? I only have so long before the bones become porous and unusable........

Couldn't you get a cheap freezer that you use for this type of thing?
I imagin that this won't be your last "dig" of this kind. Good 'ol ebay will surely turn something up.

Get a camera crew, strap it to the top of a Porche, and make a documentry on the journey.

Build a wooden crate (Or buy one) line it with styrofoam, wrap the decomposing mess in plastic and pack it into the foam lined crate with dried ice.
Little bit of work, but worth it in the long run. Gwyd |

I wish my Mom had loved me enough to dig up the corpse of a rotting two-headed calf for me.

T-Ray, go to a funeral home and ask if they have any Paulex Powder, it is for external embalming to control odors and such in caskets, body bags, etc. when arterial embalming is not possible. It should control the odor and preserve the carcass enough to transport in a sealed and lined crate.

I can do nothing but admire your enthusiasm and committment.
Congrats on your discovery. I'd go with the whole buy a deep-freeze at a department store thing and just strap it to the back of a truck. Chris http://www.spookymagic.com P.S.--PM me. I have some pictures to share with you. |

Get some heavy plastic bags and use plenty of Duct Tape. Before sealing it, empty 5 or 6 bottles of Old Spice on it.
Or...just ship it Air France. They probably won't notice.
