I'm more of a card and coin guy. I wanted to know what should I get to start in rope magic?

The Encylopedia of Rope Magic. A great book with almost all you will ever need to know. Of course, if you have the Tarbell course, there should be a lot of stuff there, too.
Don't rush, and don't go for the fad stuff. The old stuff is still great.

Pete said it all. There's a great new edition of the Encyclopedia, simply called "Rope", which is a collection of all three volumes of the series. That and a hank of rope will give you a brilliant start.

Chuck,
All three of the previous posts are correct, but if you would rather have your rope magic on DVD, I suggest Daryl's Expert Rope Magic 3-DVD set. Daryl takes from many old rope magic sources and demos them. Al Angello

And my opinion...stay away for the complex routines ala Tabary and others. Keep it simple...think of your audiences, not the magicians.
