I'm looking for a small roundish type of animal to finish a spongeball routine with. I have experience with doves and rabbits but the idea for this was to turn a spongeball into this animal at the end. My original idea was to use a small mouse but I fear that these creatures are a bit on the jumpy side and may just hop out of my hand and out into the audience, plus I don't know that a mouse will be very family-friendly. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks, Eddie

Teddy Bear Hamsters are usually faily tame, and won't try to run away, and they're one of the cutest little animals you could use. Most kids have these animals anyway so they would be familiar with it too.

I have used hamsters before. I used a Candy Factory and the hamster stayed in the glass just fine. The kids could pass around the glass without touching the hamster and the hamster (Bo) was too smart to get out!

I used to own a tarantula. She was small (but not by spider standards) and roundish. I don't know about using one as a production/transformation in the hand though.

I recall having seen pygmy hedgehogs in a petshop once. They seem mellow and they naturally roll into a ball. They might work for you.
