I found this video of Ammar's cup routine, and I was wondering if anyone could tell me what they are. They seem similar to the Paul Fox cups, however they seem to be a bit squattier than your standard Paul Fox cups. Thanks Guys, Evan |

I would assume they are the same cups he uses in his 2-video/DVD set on the cups and balls, which are Paul Fox cups. As there are a few varieties of PF cups, I'll leave it to the experts.
I really more wanted to compliment the routine - superb. Even knowing how it was done I could sit there and appreciate the thought and pace and smoothness. Just beautiful.

Chessman is right. These are Fox cups. I spoke to Michael about cups some time ago and he confirmed his cups are/were Fox coppers. More recently he's used Johnsons, and now, of course, he uses his compact Ammar cups. I owned a set. They are very nice.
And his routine is even nicer. Brilliant, actually. |

These are copper Paul Fox cups. The reason they look squattier than normal is that the aspect ratio of this video is completely messed up. It's set at 9 X 16 instead of 3 X 4, which is the normal aspect ratio of a video.

I didn't know what kind of cups they were, but I knew that everything including Mr. Ammar looked squatty in that video.
Thanks for the info, Bill.

The cups don't matter... it is the smooth handling and nice routining Michael has put together. Thanks for posting.

Bill, didn't you know...he's using a set of JESmagic Squatty cups in the video?! They just look like Paul Fox cups...ha ha ha.
RaveMastaE, I have already created a squattier version-- the JESmagic Squatty cups. They are similar in design to the original Paul Fox, but slightly shorter. The only major difference is that they do NOT hold a regulation lacrosse ball, which isn't exactly the end of the world. I've kept the same squatty design with the Squatty 2 cups, now being released from RNT2. The major difference is that the new cups have 3 beads, hold a regulation lacrosse ball, and can hold 3 1" balls on the top. They are a masterpiece! That video can be found on the DVD "The Exciting world of Magic starring Michael Ammar" It is at the end of it as a bonus. The original is from the World's Greatest Magic specials from the 90's.
Great example of the routine. Later, Mobius |

I've ordered a set of the new cups. I'm sure they will be fine.
