Hey There all,
I have a new act I am brainstorming, It involves a minature (kids size) drum kit, and a full grown audience member playing the drums. Meanwhile I am juggling. I don't want to give away to much information, as to keep my act semi unique. The audience member does the sound effects. Now the question I have is.....what jokes/ visual puns/jokes can you think of that I may be able to use? I have thought about these ones. Drum sticks - chicken drumsticks Drums - not attched properly so they fall over Audience member - long haired wig, rock star glasses These are lame, but if you can think of any others let me know? feel free to PM me also if you prefer. Cheers, James

Once the drums fall apart, without saying a word (facial expression applies here)hand them a set of Bongos.

Have the drum stool on remote so it lowers as time goes by.
Attach fishing line to the cymbal/hi hat stand and have it slowly pulled further away (from off stage). Drill/hollow out the drums sticks and fill with neodymiums so they stick to all the hardware - only a drummer would know the true weight of a pair of sticks. Regards, Mike
It's times like this I wish I'd listened to what my Grandad used to say...

Maybe whisper to the drummer to start a beat and to gradually get faster. The faster he gets, the faster you juggle. "Too FAST!!!" Then he goes to an obnoxiously slow beat.
You can also write down cues and simple stunts for him and put them on the drum heads. |

During the act swap the juggling equipment for the drumsticks and start juggling the drumsticks while the drummer tries to drum with juggling equipment.

Have the drummer play "Wipe Out" while you juggle on a skate board across the stage area.

I'd show you my paradiddle but the last time I did that it got me arrested. Hit it once with each stick then once with your head. Not too hard, you'll get percussion. Drums are a bit like cats; they make a loud noise when you hit them with a stick. I used to be a professional drummer. You know the group Pink Floyd?.....They're really good aren't they. These used to be full size drums but you know what happens when your wife washes your kit.... George |
