Hello, for the past while I have been performing the Wiz-Kote with great success, I recently got engaged to do a show, that I will be flying to by plane...
Usually I use a 'Circus Wagon' (MAK Magic) type prop... but that big ol' road case for it is not really what I want to bring on the plane, as it limits the other items I can bring because of size and weight restrictions. I was wondering if anybody had any good 'pack small play big' ideas to produce the child's shoe at the end of the routine? Thanks, Sam Pearce |

Andrew Mayne describes the idea of producing a giant foam pair of shoes from a huge shoebox designed as a tip over trunk. Perhaps you could use the idea to use a regular sized shoe box and make your own tip over trunk out of it to product the shoe? Good luck, Jeff

Hey Sam,
How do you like your new Wizkote? I never did receive mine yet. |

Jim Gerrish, the originator of the effect, uses a large paper bag to produce the shoe. The premise is that his iron-clad warranty specifies that if he fails to satisfy the customer ( the kid who owns the show) he will take him out to lunch. Jim then proceeds to get the paper bag and begins removing foam lunch items (string of sausages, etc.) Finally, he notices a strong smell coming from the bag. Thinking it might be the limburgher cheese sandwich he packed in there a year ago, he reaches down into the bag and produces the kid's shoe or sneaker. Squeezing his nose with his other hand, he asks in a loud nasal voice: "Does this look familiar to you?"

I like the idea of the paper bag, as it would fold flat and is very light weight an folds flat!
On the note of the Wiz-Kote, I love it!!! It is the highlight of my show, and is one of my favorites! Sam Pearce |

I've always used a paper bag (nice larger one with the handle, either very plain or very colorful...mine says "Thanks For Shopping With Us") with my Wiz Kote. Instead of food, though, I have a variety of "spare shoes" in there, from a HUGE (size 10, my wife's...sorry honey) high heel, to a tiny 2" shoe (off a keychain) to a plastic Barbie (tm) slipper, finally culminating with the reproduction of their shoe.
