I saw this performed many years ago and enjoyed it. I was wondering if anyone performs the Sidewalk Shuffle in a close-up/restaurant situation. If so, how well is it received and what is the general response from the spectators. Pm me if you like.

I love the demo of martin doing this;however, I prefer bleached by Peter Duffy.

I have performed this close-up many times and it always gets a great audience reaction.

This is one of the greatest "Monte" effects out there IMO, and easy to perform, as long as you keep rehearsing the "moves"...Highly recommended...

Ken Brooke put out a manuscript on it with Fred Kaps' routine. Excellent! Also had a bonus effect with ungimmicked cards!

The ungaffed handling for this routine (by Louis Falanga) is on Easy To Master Card Miracles 5. It's called Virginia City Shuffle.

I've used it in restaurants and it gets a strong reaction. I normally perform it in my standup act. I use the jumbo cards for close-up because the regular sized cards have really crappy silk-screening. I've never seen a good set in poker cards, but I'd love to gets some if a good set were to be produced.
I'm thinking of learning the Kitson Miracle - the best close-up monte that I've ever seen. The Pat Page routine is excellent! As for ungimmicked versions of Sidewalk Shuffle, Bob King has a great version. |

It is a great trick for table hopping or for trade shows. it has so many possibilities.
