Hello Guys (and Gals)
Just had a quick question that maybe you can help me with. I'm looking to do a bowling ball from paper bag (a la Andrew Mayne). I want to do a switch for a black balloon. I want the audience to think the black balloon is the bowling ball (obviously). Howver, I wanted to know what balloons will work best. I know a round black one, but is there a specific kind from a specific company you would recommend? I don't want it to look too shiny, etc. I use a standard black bowling house ball you'd see at any bowling lane. Does anyone know if they sell the balloons with the holes painted on them already? Just curious. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Haas

Not sure if balloons are already printed like this, but you can contact Qualetex and ask them.
Here is a link to contact them about having "custom" made balloons printed to one's needs. http://www.qualatex.com/balloons/custom_prints.php I have no idea what the cost might be but at least it's a starting place for your search. Good luck. Mark. |

The amazing johnathan does the exact same thing (I'm guessing (<--- emphasis) that that's where you got the idea from. He just uses a normal round balloon with the nozzle towards himself so that it looks round. There's a clip of him doing it on youtube.com somewhere...
I think you may be over-thinking on this one... The wat he does it is "He puts it down and goes 'Ooops! That's not a good place for it there...'" That's when he does the switch... It flew by me as it was done on the off beat. Any normal black balloon that has lost some shine, but not all, will be good. Regards, Ali

Thanks for your help. I appreciate it. I have contacted Qualatex and will await their response. Yeah, I guess the holes in the balloondon't matter, but if it can make it lok even a little more convincing, it is worth it to me. I appreciate all your help.
