If you think the Lefler's big (I own one)...try a Viking "Pro-Table"...it's even taller!

I've already got a small Lefler, which I'm very happy residing in. But if I ever have a family, I may need to get a large one.

Todd,
You if need be you could always extend the space of your current Leler,at lesser cost, by the addition of a well-made servante... perfect space for the "little ones"... to be heard but never seen. lol Jonthan

Correct Jonthan,
I use a poacher's pouch as a servante and couldn't be happier. I don't use it for added storage but I use it to bring the props up and out of the lefler to where I can access things, and ditch things.

What size Lefler's do most folks use? The small or large version?

I use the small table. I've also changed my servante recently to a new prototype.
It hangs off the table latches (on the top) and has lots of pockets and ditching/production space. when I'm done I take it off, zip it up and go home.... (with my lefler table). It's great.

I usually use the large one. It will fit into the back of my car for smaller shows STANDING UP, whereas the Viking will NOT fit in there closed. Too tall by about 3". I drive a Toyota Matrix...

Lefler tables are good but if you troupe them very long they need to be reinforced. I used aluminum angles to beef up the interior corners and shelves, as they started to pull apart after several airline flights. I have a custom ATA case that my table fits inside for airline travel. I've modified one of my Lefler tables for use as a trade show podium with a larger top that increases the height by 6 inches and breaks down to fit inside the table.

I have a small & large Lefler. Generally kid shows in the big case, adult shows in the smaller case. I get the whole show in the case. Nothing else to bring. Street performing I use my table and a back pack which carries servante and money can. See Avitar

I've been very happy using my large Lefler suitcase/table for several years. I did replace the pins for the shelf with wooden strips that the shelf now sits on. The pins were always falling out or if the shelf moved forward it was not supported by all the pins and fell down. No problems with the shelf since I put in the wooden rails for it to sit on. I also cut the shelf a little smaller from front to back so that I can fit an Axtell Drawing Board standing up in front of the shelf. I replaced the small wheels with much bigger shopping cart type wheels and have had a much easier time of rolling it. I pile several cases on top and wheel the whole thing around so I needed a more solid base to roll over cracks in sidewalks and lips of door frames. I wouldn't even mind bigger wheels now though.
I have been considering getting the small one as well, but I'm not sure it's worth the extra investment just to have a little smaller case for the car. Does anyone have both and found that there are advantages to having two? Or should I just continue with the larger one even for the smaller shows that don't need as much cargo area? I want to get a Wonder Imagery banner custom printed for the case and if I get the 2nd table, the banner won't fit both. Then I'll need two banners as well. I'm not sure if two of everything is worth the extra expense than just using the big one I have for all the shows. Any thoughts?

I've used the large Leffler table for hundreds of shows, and it has held up well with no reinforcement. In fact, we've even hacked away at it -- My husband cut a hinged trap door in the top so that I can easily steal or ditch props without squatting and breaking eye contact. And he cut a large curve into the fronts of the shelves so that tallish props are retrievable without getting stuck on the way out. With these 2 enhancements I can't think of a better prop holder. A Leffler table with your own customization is a great way to go.

I love my Lefler table. It's probably the best magic investment we've ever made. I can fit an entire B-Day party show in there and have my table all in one! I love the fact that the material will adhere to velcro for my banner...
I use the large one BTW. |
