Hi there everone; This seems to have been a hot topic, and a little underground, so I thought it important to post my detailed views on the product.
Here is what the author claims (he is mentalist David Meade, he is a member here, username write2david); Welcome to real magic. Well, as close as you can get to it anyway! Arguably, the Time Machine which you now own, is one of the most tremendous effects available to the modern mentalist – yet its simplicity means it can be performed by both professional and amateur magicians and mentalists the world over. As an active member of both regional and international magic organisations, I get the opportunity to share my thoughts and experiences of this great gimmick with amateurs and professionals at all skill levels, and have developed a knack for performing this particular effect with great ease, and most importantly, great impact. Having simply performed the effect as described in the manufactures instructions for over a year, I and many others among the professional magic community realised that its true potential was not being realised by conforming to those directions stipulated in the manufacturer’s guidelines. It was this realisation, the notion that it might be used to give the appearance of actually penetrating the thoughts of spectators, that formed the impetus for producing this booklet. It is written in a conversational style, just as I would describe it to you if you were here with me. The combination of around a years work with audiences and fellow magi, this booklet will provide the short and snappy advice without a lot of boring marketing blurb that will allow you to: • Select the best time/place/audience to get maximum results. • Make sure your predictions are accurate every time. • Use recognised psychological skills to make it appear that you really are penetrating the thoughts of the spectator. • Perform the Time Machine, as a full routine for 4 or 40 people • Reset the watch, ready for performance again at the next table – perfect for table hoppers! • Perform killer routines with the time machine never before seen in print, includint some inspired by the work of Luke Jermay, Bob Cassidy, and Others. I hope that you enjoy reading and learning more about this amazing effect. Before you continue, Pease bear in mind the following points: • This booklet should be considered an accompaniment, and not a replacement for the original Time Machine manuscript. • Although many different wrist models exist, the principles described here remain the same. (The illustrations used in this booklet are of the stainless steel version) • The author is in no way affiliated with the manufacturers of the Time Machine, and in no way wishes to discredit the quality of their instructions – merely to augment and add to them. • Any opinions expressed in this booklet are that of the author, and do not reflect the opinions of the manufacturers, or any other distributional parties. THE REVIEW I am gonna divide this review into a few sections to review everything, the manuscript is almost 20 pages so it's lot to do justice to. Clarity - 10 out of 10 The manuscript describes a whole raft of performance pieces and effects all involving the time machine either centrally or periphally, and does so in a wonderfully accessible conversational style. As mentioned in the introduction of the booklet, it is written in a conversational style as if David was sitting beside you. A ton of multi-angle photographs do justice to the effects by depicting the performance from both the spectators point of view, as appropriate. Lives up to the marketing- 10 out of 10 wowza, does it ever. It actually has a ton more stuff inside that isn't fully exploited in the marketing. I am currently most in love with the suggestions for stage performances - since the time machine disappears in the mind of the audience, it is entirely peripheral to the mind blowing effect. If you are familiar with the suggestive techniques of Luke Jermay and Derren Brown, there is one or two effects that immitate these effects with absolute power and certainty. great. I also love the reset section - I have used it a ton of times the moment I read it. Newness- 9 out of 10 This is great stuff. Very innovative, including the work on cold reading and suggestion offered in the main part of the performance section. There are sections that explore uses of the time machine that you will never have thought of. It takes the original manufacturers instruction and shoots them up tarantino style. I realise ted Karmilovich (a mentalism guru) released a manuscript on the time machine in limited edition. I have seen a rare copy of this, digested it, and can say without reservation that this most contribution is considerably stronger. It doesn't just describe a good routine, it ****yses the selection of time/place/particiant and goes on to suggest a number of performance approaches suitable for every style of performer. The section on instantly resetting the watch in real time is wonderful for table hoppers. I have only given it 9 out of 10 in this section since, David is not the creator of the time machine. Where else can you learn to make the prediction in such a way that the spectator can reveal it themselves, by picking up the watch from the table where it has been resting for some time! VAlue for money- 11 out of 10 I would have paid in the region of $40 for this, since it has helped me get more performance time out of the time machne than any of my other utility items. Yes that's right, it's a utility item, like your boon or thumb tip. Overall - 9 out of 10 I cannot ethically give it 10 since, as far as I know, David meade did not design the time machine. It is however the best value, and greatest impact, putchase Ihave made this year. I have used the routines within days of reading them, and am continually adding the little convincers that are detailed throughout the manuscript. I love the stage routines, and the way he describes how to not only predict the selected time (AND DO SO WITH MINUTE PERFECT ACCURACY I MIGHT ADD) butyou really do penetrate the mind of the spectator, telling them about their thought of occasion. wonderfully deceptive. YOu will love this. get it fast. |

Is it safe to assume that the routines, handling and suggestions in David's manuscript will work equally well with Viking Mfg's Perfect Time III-Collectors' Workshop Original?
