Right now I am producing the bottle from a burst balloon (OK, a version of “Splash”). I blow up the balloon, use an old “Super Needle Through Balloon” needle and look as if I am going to do the old Needle through Balloon trick but “POP!” and there is a bottle. But, I have also produced the bottle from a sheet of newspaper following a torn and restored newspaper opener and then used the newspaper for the vanishing bottle bit of the effect. This is the easiest production that I have used. And I have also produced the bottle from a flat paper bag that was ‘popped’ open (based on Osterling’s glass production). I will admit that it is difficult to beat the “Flash” production given by the flash paper. I do not have a reliable source for the paper so have adapted a different method. Frankly, as you have noticed in my earlier post, I have “adapted” many parts of the original presentation to fit my own style and venues. I tend to do that with almost everything I use.

I tracked down the 6 oz. bottles finally at a Meijers store. Not sure if those are nationwide. Kevin also said he could sell you some if need be.
I have used both the Perrier bottle for restaurant work and a Heineken bottle for bar work. I agree with all the great input by Harry. I concur that it is definitly a worker. Also, like Harry, I don't do the flash paper appearance. When I was using it table hopping, that was just too much flash paper to go through in one night. I do it following my coins across routine. I have a person at the table point to anyone of the half dollars on the table and tell them to hold onto that one. I then borrow a dinner napkin and do a coin vanish while stealing the bottle from my back pocket. (This bottle steal comes directly from Mac King's lecture notes...his beer bottle production to close his show) Now that I have the bottle, and they have the coin, I am ready to go. A good routine for table hopping. |

What I do not like in this routine is the fact that only a few drops come out from the bottle at the end of the routine.
You could also produce the bottle using Jim Pace's Phoenix. He demonstrates a bottle production on his website http://www.whiterabbitmagic.com Ivan PS Is a jacket needed to perfrom this??

Niva, yes a jacket is required. That said I do perform in a large Hawaiian shirt that I wear open over a solid colored t-shirt that provides similar cover.
As to the amount of fluid that you produce from the empty bottle, I often simply skip that part of the routine. The bottle has been shown empty throughout the routine so any amount of fluid gets a reaction.

Just as an aside these bottles are widely available in the UK as well.

I saw Kevin James do this routine in swedish TV and it looked amazing. I have this effect, but I have never used. I don't know why?!

While not as preferable, like Harry, I have managed without a jacket, but by wearing a loose vest when performing in the summertime.

I can't find any bottles either and I live in Canada. I practice with bigger Perrier bottles so once I come across a little one, angles will be easier for me. Will someone really send me a bottle if I paid for the shipping and gave like 5 dollars or something?
Also, for spring break I am going to Phoenix and Vegas. Could anyone from there tell me where in those two cities I could get one? Thanks. |

I can see how this routine plays though, and like most marketed effects, the secret does you no good without the gimmick, but I just like the Perrier bottles personally. I think it will replace that for my wine bottle. I was doing Mike Ammar's routine, but the window bottle is pretty clunky. Any suggestions?

Well I have looked in Costco and every other place I could find for these small Perrier bottles and I have had no luck.
If anyone can get there hands on a couple, I will gladly send you a self addressed stamped package in the mail if you will send me a couple. Anyone???
