What is the name of that card flipping move from one hand onto the deck or to the other hand. To which I can only use Blaine as an example of using it. He was doing it with two cards back and forth, talking about how you can only see reflections of light off the card while it is in mid air.

This was something Paul Harris does I think on Tap Dancing Aces/Balerina Cards. I could be wrong about the effect, but it is definately Harris.

From the description, I'd bet you talk about Paul Harris' "Instant Replay".

Yeah its Instant Replay, and Simple Switch (Simple switch being where the two cards crossover in mid-air) You can find it in Book 3 of AOA page 199 I think but that's just from memory so I'm probably wrong.

Waking the dead with this old thread.
Wanted to know if there is any other sources with this move and possible tips variants, ECT... Would love to know. Thanks.
I've been training these cards since they were small.

Well, October's MAGIC Magazine features it in a sandwich effect called Process of Elimination by Frank Fogg. Cool effect. It got me to start practicing this move.

I've been struggling with this move for a VERY long time. I'm also curious to know if there's any less known resources for learning this move out there. I've read multiple books (including the original source) and I'm still making no progress. Perhaps there's a less known dvd or VHS tape out there that may be of assistance to myself and others. Any thoughts?
As I said before, years of practice and still bewildered by this move. I'll be keeping my eye on this thread. All the Best, magicianguy4life |

I do this and learned it from the book 'Fechter'.

The Buck brothers teach this move, which they call the "Simple Switch", in their Trilogy DVDs (disk #3).

Thanks JT Kordesich! I'm glad you are enjoying the routine. The sandwich load flows very well into Instant Replay. And using it as a visual appearance of the card between the two, get's the spectators every time. Thanks again for the support!
If you have any questions, you're more than welcome to ask me. - Frank Fogg |

Alex Pandrea teaches a variation of the simple switch on his dvd AM/PM which uses the top shot move. I personally found it easier to perform than the original.
