I was in Vegas recently for my son's bachelor party and had a chance to take him and his brother to see you and Mac King. They are 30 and 29, respectively, and have seen a lot of magic, but that weekend made them appreciate what it should be.
Both were particularly impressed with the World's greatest show and commented on your Chop Cup. I guess because they had had the misfortune to see it done poorly so often. Frankly, I remember NOTHING about the routine, except you "got on with it" and made it entertaining and quick without a single moment of embarrassment for the spectator. I made a point of mentioning it to you after the show. Ken Brooke would have approved..... Steve |

Steven, I frankly found your comment about my chop cup routine rather narrow minded and somewhat demeaning. I think you were observing with typical jaded, move oriented, judgemental eyes. For you to say in upper case lettering: You remember NOTHING of the routine, tells me you were NOT in THE AUDIENCE. You were sitting all by yourself, with your self inflated ego in judgement. You missed the real Magic. Your comment then and now makes it sound like I and my audience "Survived" a Chop Cup Routine.
For 3 years now I have been following Joseph Gabriel and The Majestix with this 7 Minute Chop Cup Routine using a 10 year old little boy or girl. From perhaps the best Dove act in the world and The Grand Illusion's of the great Majestix to a mere chop cup. I am at least happy that you found I "GOT ON WITH IT" and made it "QUICK"! I am SORRY that you missed the Magic of the Moment with the Child. I remember you after the show....you were SMUG then as well.

My apologies. I meant it to be nothing but complimentary. Oh well.
And the "smug" bit - all I said to you afterward was I enjoyed the show , especially the chop cup. You asked me if I was a magician and I said I was just a hobbyist. You seemed to like the compliment - thanked me and I moved on. ...but what to I know. I certainly will NEVER bother you again! |

I apologize if I offended anyone, I felt a need to defend myself.
I should have been more sensitive to Steve and a lot less sensitve to my feelings. I did not mean to come off as egotistical about the chop cup and following Joseph and The Majestix, put yourself there on stage with a mere chop cup following that...it is pretty overwhelming and until you have done it you really don't know. If I mistook your intent Steve I sincerley Apologize.
