I did a search before posting this; and found no mention. So, here goes: many of you know Bruce Cervon; many more of you are familar with his work through his books, videos, network television appearances, etc. Bruce is one of the finest magicians on the planet; Bruce is also a terrific friend.
Well, Bruce is involved in quite a battle right now, a battle like he has never had before-- it is with cancer. Though everyone is hopeful, he has several weeks of radiation and chemo to endure before things start to get settled. For those of you that have had friends go through this, or perhaps have gone through it yourselves-- well, you know. I also understand it is a busy time of the year for everyone, busy for gigs, busy for shopping, and Thanksgiving coming up later in the week. It is just busy. But, I also know how critical, how vitally important positive attitude is when battling a horrible disease-- it makes all the difference in the world. So, if you find yourself out where you can pick up a "Get Well" card and a stamp, and you want to give a lift to someone who has devoted his life to Magic, and could really benefit from a boost right now-- please send a card of good cheer and best wishes to: Bruce Cervon 10074 Ashland St. Ventura, CA 93004 It all makes a difference; I know Bruce would appreciate a note from you, his bride Linda will, and I sure will as well for that matter. Positive thoughts and positive energy can give Bruce a big push in the right direction when he needs it most. So, if you find time when you are out and about before Thanksgiving, maybe you can help give a fellow magic brother a bit of a jumpstart and a kickstart. It helps, and it matters. |

This is awful news. Bruce is one of my favorite magicians. I really wish him well. Thanks for the info Randy. I will definitely send him my prayers and a get well card.

Randy -- Thank you for making this aiformation available to the people on this Forum.
Bruce e-mailed me about his condition some time ago, probably at the same time he contacted you. I e-mailed Bill Goodwin who said that Bruce was doing well (as well as might be expected) and that was good news. I've always enjoyed Bruce's card magic and his gentlemanly demeanor. He's a good guy and a great card expert. I hope he recovers soon. And thank you, Randy, for your caring post here. Matt Field |

In Flames, Matt--
Thanks to both of you. Bruce is one of the best we have! Matt, I'll see you at Blackpool if you'll be attending . . . |

I can tell you that Bruce and Linda have been both surprised and very appreciative for the out-pouring of cards, greetings, and best wishes. Bruce never had an aversion to cards, come to think of it.
Many of you have asked how Bruce is doing-- I believe he is quite miserable, feels like a truck hit him, and has absolutely zero energy. That's another way of saying that the treatment is going exactly as planned. My understanding is that there is another four or five weeks of treatment (torture?), with chemo once a week and radiation daily. After the proper medical care pounds him into the ground like a tent stake, then he can get to work building himself back up. Linda says Bruce is a remarkably good patient, despite what he is going through. |

Yes, it was very kind of Steve Brooks to get the bulk PM out. That was Steve's doing; kudos to Steve for being so thoughtful.
