Without a doubt Seth Kramer's "A Modern Trade Show Handbook" is the bomb. I wrote the forward for the book because I've been around Seth since my earliest days in magic. I've watched him grow into one of the busiest and most successful corporate specialists in the world today.
I just finished reading the book. I was blown away. Seth put the whole enchilada down of paper that will set anyone on the trade show path in the right direction. Each and every essential aspect of being a true trade show professional is covered in depth. You can totally trust Seth's information. While most of you have never had the pleasure of watching him work a crowd consider a few facts. 1) Seth has worked 42 trade shows in one year. I've never heard of anybody's schedule even approach this number. 2) Seth keeps his clients for YEARS. This is the real bottom line. In today's corporate environment his ability to keep clients coming back for more is nothing less than astonishing! This is the Holy Grail because every time you finish a show and lose a client to quote Bob Sheets "you're functionally unemployed." This is probably the best secret in the book. 3) Seth lives in NY, but he's in Vegas so often working that many of the locals think he lives here. He shows up at the local meetings with me and when they find out he flew in to do yet another show in they're backyard that they could be doing they're stumped. At least now they can read the book and find out how Seth's been doing it. 4) Hen's not just working Vegas but all over the world. His schedule for 2007 is already filling up. Nice huh, to actually know how much money you're making in advance instead of worrying week to week. Those who attended the IBM convention in England were very lucky to see Tim Conover, Shep Hyken and Seth. They were also lucky to get Seth's book at the convention price. Here's the only bad news. But it's not really bad news. "A Modern Trade Show Handbook" is now $50.00 and available only from Seth at:corpmagi@earthlink.net. It's the bargin of the year, easily worth $1500.00 (an average days trade show pay). You'll know which friends were smart enough to follow through and get it. They'll be the ones with a new car, Italian suits and a big house. |

I'd like to say that I just purchased Seth's book, but the reality is that I purchased it some time ago. I'm now on the third read and I'm still finding stuff I missed on the first two reads.
Move over Joel Bauer. Seth Kramer has practiced your Hustle, Hustle. Nothing against Joel mind you, he has just found an master student in Seth Kramer. Statements made by Joel Bauer in his 1992 publication like "you don't need a personal computer, they just waste your time", may have been appropriate in 1992, but the times they are a changin'. Seth Kramer's "A Modern Trade Show Handbook" was just published in 2006 and the information is very up to date a relevant. You can still purchase the sound system he recommends, etc., etc., in fact, everything in his book is current and useful. Finding Seth Kramer and his book can only be viewed as an unexpected treat. Much like a cashier giving you a Morgan Silver Dollar as $1.00 in change, the ingot value is worth 10 to 12 times the face value. Until we appear again, Kipp Sherry |

I've had the opportunity to see Seth Kramer work a trade show in Vegas not long ago...and all I can say is that he "wowed" the crowd big time. Fantastic routining, professional approaches to building a crowd, killer effects, and enthusiatic responses from everyone watching his beautifully orchestrated show.
However, it was the smiles on the faces of the salespeople who were working in the client's tradeshow booth that really said it all--they had paid for Seth's valuable services and Seth delivered for them. I learned first-hand why Seth Kramer is one of magic's top trade-show workers. A true pro. I look forward to my copy of his book. A.J. |

If you are serious about breaking into the trade show market, and have the technical skills needed, this book is the next best thing to having a mentor in the business (as Seth did) to "show you the ropes". Seth tells you how he does what he does (not the tricks he performs, but how gets and keeps clients) and there is no reason why it can't work for you as well as it does for him... if you are as charming and talented as Seth! These are the "real secrets" and it is rare to find them discussed as openly in print by a working professional. Thanks, Seth!

Hey Seth,
This book will be a keeper, without a doubt. Are you set up for Paypal? Andrew

I'll go a step further and say that anyone who works trade shows in any capacity (not just magic) would do well to read this book. It is full of good, solid information that I wish I had known back when I started. If you work trade shows, or you are planning to work trade shows, you need this book.
