Wow! I thought I had fun with Telemarketers, this is way better than anything I have done. I almost feel bad for that poor guy on the phone.

Hmm, that's a new one to try. Thanks for sharing. When is Thanksgiving in America? Because you guys have been saying "Happy Thanksgiving" on the Café alot, but ours was like a month ago...
Anyway, off I got to wait for a telemarketer call. |

That was great. Have to try it out myself!
Somewhere in internet land there is a series of calls between Nigerian scammers (emails saying they need your help in depositing huge sums of money, etc....) and people who pretend and play along.

Claiming to be law enforcement can be a bad thing. In this instance I find it extremely funny though.
Try stuttering really really bad while asking inane questions. It eats up time which is a telemarketers nightmare. |

Of course, I always do this simple one: (Acting like I have another call coming in. )"Uh, wait a minute...can I put you on hold for a second?" Then I put the phone down and let just let it sit....and sit..and sit....

He does a few other notable ones including the funeral plot telemarketer calling the suicidal person. Awesome. On You Tube he also has some videos most notably the radioactive pond. As he mentioned on Bob and Tom, the pond was on his friend's property and the two fishermen were trespassing, they paid well for the trespassing. Tom is really funny, a toned down and intelligent Tom Green type of persona. |

That was great. Now I wish I did not put my name on the do not call list. Many years ago, I told this telemarketer who offered me a free vacation if I bought luggage, that my parole officer would not let me leave the state. He hung up real fast.

Yup. I sure wish I had thought of it. Of course, his impersonation of a homicide investigator was excellent, and without that, it would be difficult to pull this off effectively.

Not from across state lines if I recall right.
There was that case of some guy in florida calling a bunch of other states pretending to be a police officer and trying to get people to strip search employees and other nasty acts.. if I recall, they could only charge him with solicitation of sodomy and not much else, as it was over the phone and cross state lines, not much else would stick. |

Ah! I guess the feeling is that "over state lines" he would have no juristiction so it wouldn't matter if he called himself a police officer as long as he didn't use the inherent authority of the title to try and get the party on the other end to do something unlawful. Thanks!
