Watched the demo. As some have said, it's really too dark to see much. Looked OK, for the poor video quality, but I didn't like the 'healing' at all. It was so obvious. I think this could be done 'much' smoother and more convincing.
I'm not into this kinda Geek Magic, but for those of you who are, I'm sure you'll get 'miles' with this. Have fun... smitty |

I agree smitty, I think the video is way too dark/far away to see if this is convincing or not. It would be good if a Café member could shoot a video of their own?

I just received mine and I like it. The razorblade idea suggested above is a great idea. I found that the gimmick is a little bit thick though. Nobody seems to be mentioning that. Am I the only one thinking that?

I don't think the effect would work with a better quality video. I believe when they made the demo, they intentionally made it crappy. It's not like they couldn't afford decent cameras and lighting. And as for the gimmick being a bit on the thick side. I agree. Which is why I do it on my hand. It casts natural shadows over it, with the hand slightly curled in. Looks much better, and more realistic. I say really cut yourself, with a very sharp razorblade. Just cut the top layer of skin. enough to draw blood. That would be lagit.
It occured to me at once that love could be a great illusion, that makes fools of brilliant thinkers everyday

I saw the video, it looks OK, but I don't like to do this kind of magic even I am in the medical profession.

Wound on the palm of your hand give me a great idea. For those of you who would like to combine STUCK! with Flesh Wound I have a video clip for you. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yk2hJTi9qDk This is not me performing the trick. I think it's a clever idea, but it's really not my style. I think the young magician performing on this video could have done a better job of STUCK! But he was probably more concerned with his Flesh Wound effect then the STUCK! portion of his performance. I still think it's pretty cool. I have been collecting all of the different variations and performances of STUCK! that I see on YouTube. It's really amazing seeing STUCK! in the hands of other young magicians. All the best, Greg Rostami |

Greg,
that's a cool idea, but I still think performing "STUCK" the way you've prescribed is very strong. I've been freaking people out with it a lot, the best reaction I've got so far was "How in the HELL, that's crazy man.......lol It's funny how different people react to magic, I'm having a blast with STUCK! One presentational idea for the purpose of the effect could be explaining that the other day a friend ect. accidentally cut themselves like this... Instead of taking him to the emergency room you offered to help... Just an idea.

Greg, I like the approach. It is a clever way to use the flesh wound.

I think 'Stuck', as it is performed by Greg, is a wonderful effect. I watched the promo and thought, "I know how that's done." Then, I read the blurb and didn't have a clue...
After watching 'Stuck', I couldn't believe how simple, versatile, and deceptive it is, especially in Greg's hands. (Pun very much intended.) Flesh Wound is a nice little effect; not suited to everyone, but as a finale to 'Stuck' (it getting jammed right inside), it would be a nice addition. Flesh Wound also looks surprisingly good on your arm or in your hand, however you do it, or wherever you decide to cut yourself open. Greg, your 'Stuck' effect could also be used for a very clean, hands empty coin bend, as well. I realise this is going away from the overall effect, but nonetheless, the excellent clean show of hands is very strong. I have not done it yet as a coin bend, but I will play with it... Cheers, guys. Marc Spelmann

Hi Marc,
I really love the idea of using STUCK! for a coin bend. What a great application, the bend would happen right on the back of your hand. thank you for sharring that idea with us, Greg Rostami |

I think the effect looks great, I'm just wondering if skin tone is an issue with the gimmick, anyone know?

I just ordered this from The Magic Depot (www.magic.org) taking advantage of their 25% off sale. I got it for $44.97! (reg price $59.95) From what I have heard, I am going to love this one! I will post a review when I receive it.

There's been a fair bit of Flesh Wound discussion on another part of the café if anyone's interested.

It's a lot fun to perform, and it definitely gets wild reactions. I think it's a fantastic idea to utilize STUCK in application of bending a coin. But honestly, STOP reading my thoughts, it's giving me head-aches..... LOL Actually, that's very clever thinking; a splendid idea of using it like a utility for changing one/coin into a (bent) state, utilizing the underlying principle for STUCK. It's really quite a versatile effect with many interesting applications. -Erick
