Gentlemen,
For the record, Warp One is a step backward. The effect on which Roy Walton based Card Warp was a Jeff Busby booklet titled "Into the Fourth Dimension and Beyond," which, like Warp One, performed the topological inversion without a cover card. Based on experience with both, Card Warp is a superior effect when performed for lay audiences. Nevertheless, if you find appeal in Warp One, you would be well advised to look at the original as well. Wesley James |

Secondly, I use the concept of a time machine, that seems to always sparks people interest or disbelief - whatever, it motivates them to focus and keep looking. "Before the card had its backside out now when You (the spectator) push it through we go back in time....." (after the first "penetration" in the time machine they will keep looking to see where this is going). Oh and by the way, I tear it over as the finish right upon the spectators hand, using his/her hand as a table - leaving half a card face side out and half a card back side out (make sure its torn right so the complete tear looks like a natural one way tear). They are not puzzled, they are astonished. Presented as magic - this is magic. I love this effect - I can see why it deserves a full book or DVD. Only problem is I kind of bought every source there is on card warp, and now you can get it on one DVD (what a bargain). Well after studuying almost every source I went back to the original version with some small adaptions. |

Neither is, in and of itself, entertaining. For those who think there is ANY linkage between puzzles and magic I would remind you that nothing makes a puzzle less entertaining that having solved it. [/quote] True...but what if not solving the puzzel had major consequences like, grave bodily harm, dismemberment, or death even…now that is entertaining…call me sick and twisted if you want...lord knows I cam be...LOL...But as soon as we and the element of DANGER, no matter how great or less, you have entertainment... |

do the effect slowly & not as a puzzle & have fun with the crowd Always a top effect when performed the correct way to suit your style of performing |

I used to perform Green Warp - never cared for Card Warp, because of the handling with the cover card. I just think that a bill works better as a means of cover.
I got a great reaction and the only thing that I can point to is my presentation. I used a science fiction/psuedo-scientific presentation, with a macabre twist. Suffice it to say that I didn't perform it in restaurants, because the presentation wasn't good for the venue. |

I find Carp Warp is a wonderful item for all sorts of situations: I use Jumbo Bicycle Cards and so it's really visual for a large table of say 10 people. I always let a spectator perform the magic (i.e. push the card through) - this works very well if it's a kid who wants to be a magician. He/she gets the credit for doing the magic.
Card Warp is also great if noise is an issue in the performing situation (loud music) - it can be done with no patter and still have an impact. I've also used it with great effect where I've been performing to non english speaking audiences - I don't need to say anything, but the magic is still impressive. |

The first time I ever saw Card Warp performed was at a magic convention by Eugene Burger with Jumbo cards. At that point I was hooked on this great classic trick that I still love to perform today.
I sometimes mix it up and perform Hyperwarp and now even Warp One. I feel there is room for the other versions of Card Warp. After all it is the patter and presentation of Card Warp that makes any version magical. |

I still freak when I see this performed. I prefer Mr. Ammar's versions but I here that Mr. Cervon has good version as well.

I think card warp is very magical. It always seems to fry laymen when I do it. I still remember the first time I was floored by it.

I think that the whole thing really relies on the way you perform it. Card warp always gets a good reaction for me. I actually got warp one and am now following the normal card warp with warp one. I patter something about the cards being special before doing the card warp. Then lead into the warp one with very little trouble by saying something about not wanting people to think that the cards were the only special things involved in the trick. After that I don't really speak, I just let the trick speak for itself. The warp one is a very beautiful visual effect. In combination the effects deliver a decent one-two punch. Again it all relies on the way you execute and deliver your routine.

Jenkin's warp one is great handling for the card warp and business card warp. With a little patter, it fries everyone....I definitly recomend it.
