Hi all,
I'm Chris Wilcox, a young lad of fifteen born and bred in Watsonville, California. My creative and performing interest, magically, is in cards. I've been performing (mostly bad magic) for the last six years. I remain a student and hobbyist, performing the odd show for charity events and such. I enjoy watching good magic, a relatively rare thing. Incidentally, I also enjoy watching very, very bad magic... in a sadistic kind of way. Some of you may know me as that strange, quiet kid at the A-1 convention for the last couple of years. I got here by following a link on another board that said something to the effect of "Coffee and Magic?" It looks like there's plenty of magic here... but where's the coffee? Chris |

Hi CWilcox!
Welcome to the "Magic Cafe" So glad you found your way to us, even if it was link by link, Bad Magic? I didn't know there was such a thing? Certainly not here at the Cafe. Come on in, I'm sure you'll find the good stuff here. Sadistic? you'll have to ask Ichazod about that. I'll see if I can round you up some decafe. Until then, have a doughnut. Mya

Hi Chris!
I remember you as well! It's nice to have you join us! Unfortunately, it sounds like the A-1 Convention this year aint gonna happen! Steve

Well now, six years, eh? Well, that is nearly half your life. So you are way ahead of some of us here.
Nice to know you are discerning when it comes to magic. There is no bad magic, just bad performers... And bad performers make even really good magic - bad! Good to have you join us here, but I, unlike so many others here, do not remember you from the A-1 convention. But then - I haven't been there yet - so that may be the clue. Glad you found this place. And the coffee is great here, just tell them who you are, you will get served the best available anywhere. BroDavid

Well I'm glad you're here Chris. You're probably a lot better than you think though. I enjoy watching really bad magic in that same sadistic way. My friends like to sit around and pretend to be ball game anouncers. It's fun, what can I say.

Thanks for the warm welcome, everybody.
Ichazod: yep, I remember you. How could I not? Steve (Landavazo): good to see you here as well. When we met at A-1, I wasn't aware of who you were. It's nice being able to put a name I knew and a face I knew together. And yes, a shame about this year's non-convention... I've been lurking for a bit here, and really like the environment. Thanks to Steve, staff, and participants for making the Cafe what it is. Chris |

Hello and welcome Chris,
I'll have a decaf as well, I think you are better than you may think if you have seen magic and know that it is bad than I feel that one would look at one owns magic (with mirror or video) and make it better, so enjoy your visits here, and enjoy your good magic!!!
Cheers,

Welcome aboard, Chris.
You're right; good magic is, indeed, a relatively rare thing. So join us often here and make it a less rare thing. cheers, Peter Marucci showtimecol@aol.com |
