Saw the demo. Wasn't impressed enough to buy it.

That's too bad. Thanks for the heads up though. Where did you see a demo of it?

Thanks for the link Dave. I agree, not too impressive. That guy's hand movements are a little less than smooth.

What's the point of showing your hand like that? The real guys DON'T DO ANY FLOURISHES or "movey" moves. ARgh...

I want to re watch the dvd but from the first viewing it doesn't add much, the handling is pretty obvious to me, and it uses a popular gimmick, which I suspected at the beginning.

I'll stick to the standard moves and such, adding another gimmick is taking away... Even more so with that handling.

Plus, anyone who's been doing the shell game for some time knows there's about 5 ways to shows both sides of your hand empty with the pea held in them. And using a rubber band to match your skin color makes that even easier. |

I pretty much had guessed the gimmick but am always looking for something different to add to the act. The DVD beats the demo video clip. He needs to delete that clip, it's garbage plus it's not even on the DVD. When he put together the DVD that was when he finally learned how to use the gimmick correctly, it sure wasn't on the video clip.
It's do-able but prefer to stick to what works, no fakey moves, no gimmicks for me on this one. Get the Bob Sheets/Whit Hayden DVD along with Phil Cass if you're looking for great versions of the shell game. Get this one if you want to be handicapped with a gimmick. |

Well gentleman I am a real street hustler. I didn't really pay 2 much attention to this but I thought it was cute but as I say I didn't really pay that much attention to it. I do mine on the street for REAL!

I don't think anyone was trying your credibility Memph. You've got your opinion on it, and like you said, you didn't pay much attention to it. And other people have their opinions on it.
I used to do the game down by south beach when I lived in Miami, so I know how it goes. I used bottle caps, a flesh colored ruber band knot, and some black cardboard. They can see the pea easily on the cardboard, but can't see it at all when it's in my hand. |

He says use your own shells (that part might technically be true, not sure about the pea though) but what about the rest of the setup? I'd be pretty upset to pay what he's asking only to learn I have to buy even more gimmicks before I can perform it.
