I noticed something I never did before. When you are typing a post, if you make a spelling error, it is now underlined in red. I think that's a splendid idea, and wonder why I never saw it before. Something new?

I've never seen it on the Café either. MSWord does this but not the Café.

There are so many embedded spell checkers now, it could be just about anything. Like Steve and Dave, it has to be something in your browser doing it. Did you just install IE7? Microsoft started pushing that install on people this week.

If you have the google toolbar visible, there is an icon marked abc. If you type a post and click on that, misspelled words will be highlighted in red but it's manual. I can't see anyway to make it automatic as doug mentioned.

My son Jonathan, the computer whiz just explained to me that the feature comes with IE7, which he just installed on my PC. I had no idea, but I thought it was strange when my email started doing the same feature! Oh well, I just learned something new,. besides I LIKE the feature...it saves me from looking like a dope.

I'm running IE7 and I don't see a feature for spell check.

No different for that issue here. It has to be something on your computer doing it.
Somebody kick me off the computer, will ya?

I upgraded to IE7 and I don't see it either. However, since I use IEspell, I now have a shortcut to it in my toolbar that I never had before. I think there's some place to specify using MS Word as an editor and if it has spell check turned on, that might carry over now to the IE7 settings.
