In the recent PM from Steve Brooks about a dealer acting unethical and selling copywritten material, it's mentioned that everyone can go to the site and get a free copy. I'm all good with that, but it's mentioned that this pirated material is being sold by a DEALER. I, for one, would like everyone to know the name of the dealer. It would help members know who the good guys and bad guys are. At this point, we're told there is a bad guy out there, but none of us know who it is, so we can't avoid using their services in the future.
Any chance of updating us on who's offering pirated copies? An informed group of buyers is the goal, is it not? Thanks for considering it- Steve

I was quite surprised to receive this PM. It is clearly a marketing idea to get as many people to their website as possible!
Yes I agree it may be unethical to resell someone elses work, however I think it is wrong to blast out a marketing email under the cloak of exposing unethical behaviour. I for one do not agree with PMs like this. Gary |

Gary,
With all due respect: This site belongs to Steve Brooks...And I, for one, am VERY happy with the way the Café is run... To me, that PM was a heads up on an unethical practice by an obviously unethical player in the world of Magic... So you were able to click on the link and get a free E-Book (which contained some GREAT material by the way!)... Does that mean you have to do anything else on the site?? Nope. Just download the freebie and exit out of the window....It's that easy. I was happy to get some free material and if the need arises for any more of the insightful Magic on the site, I'll check that site out first (I favorited it)... I don't think Steve was trying to push anything on us, but that's not the point... The point is, when you signed up to use this FREE site, you supposedly understood that it is STEVE'S place... He makes the rules (which are 99.9% fair on all occasions), so either delete the PM and go about your business, or don't participate... No disrespect intended, but unless you pay a fee to use the site, your umbrage at forewarned (See the FAQs section) possibilities of PM's such as the one in question is moot. Merry Christmas. Apparently, there are two sides to this story.

I'm sure if this were a scam just to get people to his site, Steve would not post it to us. If he posted the info to us knowing that is was a scam, then shame on him but I have more trust in him than that.

No scam, just the truth.
For more information on the situation, Click Here! In regards to receiving PM's from me on my website, that is all explained in our Café Rules & Etiquette section - rules and policies that everyone agrees too when they join my website. Thank you.
