I've been looking for this location effect
and have found several effects that seem
close or seem to solve the problem but one
can never be sure.

At first when I read about Really Haunted
I thought that might be it, but it appears
the performer must hold the deck (as seen
here http://www.jbtv.co.uk/guide.html)


I don't think that looks clean. I have also
heard of Spook Cut, Haunted and Spirit
and was wondering if anyone can give me a
review and whether you must be holding the
deck for the effect to work. Also any similar
effect would be appreciated.

I didnt watch the demo of Really Haunted, but from description of the effect, it sounds like you are looking for a version of Baker's Haunted Pack. For an excellent version, get John George's Close Up Magic tape. On it is a trick called "Valentine Pack" (created by Steve Valentine), it is a haunted deck effect with a borrowed deck which is placed on the table.
