Greetings, all --
Just a heads-up (har!) for anyone who might be interested: Scott over at Big Head Studio has just released a detailed set of plans for the disembodied head illusion, and I think this will be a worthy purchase for someone wanting to build this. He has expanded upon and broadened the basic set of blueprints you're probably familiar with. The how-to text goes over construction of the throne step-by-step, taking time to discuss not only how the illusion works but also why it works, giving you enough info to use this as the basis for your own custom design. Accompanying the text are over a dozen illustrations describing construction of the illusion and design details, along with various tips on building and presentation, a page of shop safety guidelines, and even a brief section on creating a proper traditional sideshow banner. He even reminds you to keep the model's comfort in mind when putting this thing together (take that, Osborne plans!). It's a lot of bang for your buck. Drop him a line at http://www.bigheadstudio.com Sorry to be doing a commercial for someone, but honestly, I wouldn't be saying these things if I didn't think it was true. I've known Scott for years, but not enough years to lie for him. Pax, Rory

Scott is the best and I look forward to seeing these plans. I have seen the photos of the finished product and it is the best illusion of its kind that I have ever seen. Scott is working on a whole set of these plans and they will have a value far greater than the price he will ask for them. They will be passed down for generations and will ensure that these illusions are made right.

Hi Rory and Todd,
.. thanks for the kind words, and the stellar reviews. My head is swelling ! .. and here is a direct link for those who had a hard time finding it http://www.bigheadstudio.com/toppage64.htm ..Todd if you would contact me directly I would be happy to send you out a review copy. I am happy as all get out, with this set of plans, and have received a great response to my first effort. Now it looks like I will have to get off of my fat a#$ and get to work on the rest of the series. perhaps ill find a little time after the holidays. I'm thinking that the next set of plans will be for the headless woman, then perhaps an "AMES" room. Either way ill be sure to keep the masses updated, and ill keep fishing for those great reviews. Oh, and speaking of great reviews, would you all mind if I quoted you ! Scott Bonelli Scott@BigHeadStudio.com |
