Use only a King James version flaming Bible.
For it burneth forth more brightly. (just kidding) Actually my experience with the flaming books is that they come in two models: good and useable and lousy. Buy a good flaming book and adjust the cover to look like a Bible. The flaming book that Stevens sells is quite good. There are also now dealer devices to put a flame into any object. This way you could use it in the book and later another prop as well. FYI. Hope that helps!
"What's your drug?" she asked. "Hope" he said, "The most addicting one of all."

Hey Donnie,
If you don't mind making your own props PM me with your email address and I will send you a jpeg copy of an article that I had published in the Christian Conjurer back in the 90's. I still use the prop I made over 10 years ago. If you want to see the book in action watch our short promo video that is currently posted on our web site (as of 12/06)at http://www.kistlerministry.org. The Hot Book bit goes by fast so watch closely. Cheerio, Kerry

Something entirely new in the topic of "be very careful using fire."
Just a question: while the sight of a flaming bible would be a very vivid image (and its uses in gospel magic obvious and attractive) - if your audience included any "magic is evil" people, wouldn't this be a bit like waving a red cape at a bull? Bet you'll get a ton of compliments on the effect and a few people very VERY upset. |

Thanks for the suggestions
Ross, I never considered that angle, but I am guessing if they take offense to a flaming Bible, they would be offended by most everything else I do 73 Donnie |

I've posted this before, but it's an effective illustration of the verse in Jeremiah.
Fire Book/Bible (Hot Book): Open the Bible and flames appear. I use it to illustrate what the Bible can do for us based on the idea the the word of God is like fire (Jeremiah 23:29). Fire protects, purifies, comforts, gives light - so does the Word. Terry
